Ah, I remember when the New York store first opened. I live nearby, and I was so excited - I must have spent hundreds of dollars every time I went there, and I went about once a month. XD

Hrm, it was fun at the time, but when I look back on it I only see wasted money and minutes.

Have you looked into the Gotz doll company? They make 18-inch dolls and clothes. Some of their play dolls are much prettier, and the clothes are cheaper. Plus, as a predominately collectors' company, they're kind of classier.

American Girl was bought out by Mattel long ago, and a little research into Mattel reveals much unsavoriness.
