I have been trying to identify this music for several years but I always failed. What is the genre of this sort of music? What band scored this game? What similar bands exist? If someone could give me an answer that would be like a severful of help!

@uberdeathmetal I do believe that Driv3r had its own composer and recorded the music expecially for the game. Take a look at the credits, I think it mentions that.

Yes I recorded it. Just connect the PS2 to Tv as usual. Use a 3.5mm audio jack and plug the one end into the TV "phones" socket, and the other end into the "line in" socket on the PC.

Then you can use any free software, such as "AV Rack" to record the sound, which is streamed to the PC's speakers.

i was trying to rip the music sraight off the game disc but the music files are hidden in a driver3.img archive and i dont know how to open it. i only want to do it this wav b/c i dont want any of the sfx to play over the music i want the music from this game and all of the SFX but all separate from each other. game extractor will do it but its 5 bucks for the full version and i dont have that.

You can just turn the SFX off from the options menu on the Playstation 2 version which will just play the music. Then you can record segments and save them separately.

true but I dont want to go from digital to analog and back to digital. me i'm all about quality, id rather rip bit for bit from the original files in the game but I need a way to break into that Driver3.IMG archive file. I want more than the music, im also after those little snippits of audio like the church bells dinging and the disco club music and the singing you hear when you are near the churches in istanbul such as the one near the tramway tracks.

I did try winRAR but it said unknown archive. I tried PSound b/c someone posted it as a suggestion on my "need help with driver3.img file on PS2 version of Driv3r" video so I tried it and I was able to get maybe 1 song and a bunch of other stuff but it was a fraction of what I really wanted. I've been playing with the settings of that program but didnt have much luck. I need a program that deals with game archives.

Just use AV rack and you can record this and save it as a WAV file, which can easily be conveted to MP3.

I use a programs Real Player to download the videos and Media Coder Audio Edition to convert files into Helix MP3s.

@arnaudlereno if you want to download this track or any other song for free use a youtube converter just type in youtube converter on google you dont need to download anything and its easy all you do is copy the url from up on top and paste it on the converter and it converters the video into a mp3 format thumbs up so people can see =)
