  • At 3:57 there's a shot of Taylor pouring probably coffee for Ava Gardner while on set in costume. While most folks would be looking at their cup while someone poured them a cup, not so Ava, she is looking at Taylor the way the rest of us used to look at him, with reverence for the magic he brought us. Indeed there is a passion in her gaze!

  • i know everyone loved him in

ivanhoe but for me the film i loved him in is waterloo bridge i get chills everytime i watch it

  • como se llamara la melodia del comienzo

  • @delinellychan Richard Clayderman - 'Eroica'

  • Granted, this might have been the most gorgeous man who ever walked the earth but what I find especially striking is that he looks like a really nice guy--there's a sense of decency that sort of radiates from him. What a shame he was taken from his family so young!

  • bitte helft mir, ich suche einen Ritterfilm, ich glaube hier bin ich richtig. DANKE

  • @Mentalinsolvenztureb Check out 'Knights of the Round Table' (1953) and 'Ivanhoe' (1952).

  • @basilnelson Thanks ;-)

  • @basilnelson IS HE LIZ TAYLOR BROTHER?

  • @CHINEKEDIIGWEADAMMA No, they are not related.

  • @basilnelson thanks...

  • @CHINEKEDIIGWEADAMMA ------------- no not siblings. his last name is actually Brough.

  • in deed he is a movie legends

  • Gorgeous guy, wonderful actor!! I still don't understand how he could be born with such an amazing name (Spangler Arlington) and change it to something so boring.

  • @babymoondancer --------------- for one... his last name, Brough, is pronounced Bruff... trust me... the name is often mispronounced.

  • What is the music?

  • @lou1606 The main theme is titled 'Eroica' and is played by French pianist Richard Clayderman.

  • A very much underrated actor.

  • whoa there: what about Cary Grant, Errol Flynn, Maurice Ronet, Gary Cooper and maybe ten others. I'd hate to live on the difference of handsomeness among any twenty of the best looking guys of all time: he's good, but I would leave room for a few others

  • Easily, the most handsome man who ever lived [2]

  • wasn't he married to

    Barbara Stanwyck

  • @mreunome Yeah, but it didn't work out, he found his soulmate in the mid 50's and was married to her till his death in '69 Her name was Ursula Thiess and they had two kids Terrance and Tessa.

  • Basil A special tribute to probably one of the top 3 leading men of all time Nobody did it with any more charm and charisma than Mr Taylor A true legend brought to life thru your always special videos... from a time even younger people now realize as a period in Hollywood which will never happen again!! Thanks for remembering Robert Taylor ..Think he would have been humbled!!

  • @lpvcrcd Couldn't have said it better myself. I am in 100% agreement with you.

  • So handsome.

    I can't stand it.

  • Easily, the most handsome man who ever lived.

  • Easily, the most handsome man who ever lived.

  • Robert Taylor was very handsome. Loved him with his moustache, it really suited him. Johnny Eager was his best movie.

But when it comes to dark handsome types, Tyrone Power is my fav. :)

  • @citybeat60 Yes All the female movie goers of the time felt the same way as you I talked to a few Unfortunately most of them are gone now Taylor made the ladies swoon with his charm, easy style and charisma Certainly a legend of high proportion! I put him up there with Flynn from Warners. [and Taylor was a more well rounded actor] He acted with ALL the leading female stars from MGM A legend who sometimes gets overloooked by the newer generations

  • When asked what had been his most Humilliating experience during his motion picture career Taylor said 'it was when a beauty queen fainted on stage just as he was about to shake her hand, leaving me standing there alone with my arm outstretched!'

  • I wrote i love robert taylor on my PE shoes and it wont come off!

My friends At school worry about me sometimes, :D

    xxx

  • His marriage to Barbara Stanwyck didn't do him any favours. He was still a very handsome man even at the end of his career. When he appeared in trash like William Castles 'The night walker' Not the stuff of Hollywoods once leading man. Perhaps Stanwyck had something to do with that one!

  • so beautiful

  • Hottie!!

  • Check out "Camille" from 1936 starring a very young Robert Taylor, and Greta Garbo, priceless!

  • that is my favorite movie of all time, i dont cry because it is soooo sad i cay bacause i wish that i could have been in greta garbo's shoes.

  • @auntyjin I love him.

  • 0:52 = he looks like a Greek god

  • Tau Kappa WOW !!

  • @helentrees I agree....wow! Watch him in robin Hood..

  • @helentrees He was known as "The Man with the perfect profile"

  • WHAT A HANDSOME dEVIL, WHEN HE WAS YOUNG HE LOOKED A BIT LIKE ANDY GARCIA

  • correction, Andy Garcia looks like him

  • I stand corrected lol

  • Very well done, Baslinelson! I enjoyed.

  • I enjoyed his historical roles such as "Knights of the Round Table", "Ivanhoe" and "All the Brothers Were Valiant".

  • mmmm wow was he hot when he was younger and he was a good actor too thank you for the post

  • Does anyone have clips of a TV series he starred in (circa 50's-60's)? I believe the title was "The Detectives".

  • One of the most beautiful people that ever lived. Thanks for making this nice tribute.

  • Was he the man with the perfect profile? Or was it John Berrymore?

  • @giovanifajardo both of them were known for their profile . Barrymore's was a litlle more full of whiskey

  • Great job.

  • Excellent image posting. My compliments. If anyone's interested in his new biography, just released this May, please check out Amazon, "Reluctant Witness: Robert Taylor, Hollywood, & Communism." ~ Linda Alexander

  • Hello basilnelson, helensmith1234 and everybody:

I just want to say that I am posting several fragments of Robert Taylor movies: ROBERT TAYLOR FILMS. I hope you enjoy it.

    Cheers

  • movie at 3:04?

gee - need to buy all of his early works in a box set - need everything before he got his mustache.

  • I saw him in a film called 'undercurrent' Where he plays a villain He was just amazing!

  • Because of his obvious beauty his acting talent was overlooked. A real impediment to to Mr. Taylor because he was a wonderful actor.

    But, what a face!!!!

  • @Gladys8it2 he was a fine actor!!

  • I'm a big fan of Robert too! WOW I loved this! You really bring so much class to your vids! AMAZING WORK! I did a vid for him too, with my old account. My sisters use it. It's on the side bar here, it's by GDLR. It's about the 13th vid down.

  • I have always thought that if we are going to choose good looks, Mr. Robert Taylor and Miss Hedy Lamarr have been the most beautiful couple ever in films. It is not easy to say this since we have had beauties like Ava Gardner, Vivien Leigh, Audrey Hepburn, etc., and Alain Delon, Rock Hudson, etc., as a young man I have always considered Taylor-Lamarr the top in looks. They were not married but they had a movie together "Lady of the Tropics" (I think). Thank you for your tribute to Mr. Taylor.

  • Su rostro fascina, en especial sus esplendorosos ojos azules.Varonil, elegante, fino y de voz cálida y vibrante, de dicción perfecta.Un actor notable en Waterloo Bridge, Escape, Johnny Eager, Personal Property,Westward the Women, The Last Hunt...Adoro a este hombre!

  • Robert Taylor, absolute legend!! an intensely and private man, an incredibly passionate and talented actor.Thank you. 5*****

  • While studying music in college Taylor's much admired professor took a new position in California and Taylor decided to follow him. Joining the college theater Robert was spotted by a MGM talent scout and that was the start of his movie career.

Taylor starred in musicals, comedies, westerns and romantic dramas. Fondly,Hedda

Trivia: Robert Taylor was a wonderful musician and played the beautiful cello.

  • Robert Taylor had that real he - man rugged appearance` dark and very taylor image.

These photos clearly exhibits this mans

overall screen quality. A look that most

    ladies found romantic and seductive.

His skills were right for the parts he

choose to play, truly a Legend and a gentleman at heart.

    Magnificent editing

    Thankyou Baz

    Pierre
