In the initial stages there were times when the goverment could not provide them food, civilians used to bring packets of lunch and there used to be 5 to 6 airlifts from just only colombo to the IDP camps, as students the number of projects we carried out, uptodate. The only reason why SL signed the ceasefire in 2002 was because their economy was weak and they were facing bankruptcy. Not because they wanted to settle the ethnic conflict amicably but because they could not afford to pay for the war.
