I have this phone. If your a teenager and use your phone often this is totally not the phone for you! Sometimes when I call it doesn't ring, when im talking to someone theres this popping noise the whole time, the reception gets lousy very easy. And actually I think the camera is pretty decent.
For photos: It's a VGA camera come on. What do you expect? TIP If you want slighly better results make sure the light sorce (sun, lamp ect) is behind you. Hold the phone as still as you can.
Yes it plays MP3s. All of the ring tones on it are MP3s. You need to download Mp3s to the phone via internet, USB connection or Bluetooth. Or you can use the phone's voice recorder.

One problem...it comes with pre-loaded demos of games, and one of them is "Family Guy-Uncensored". There's no option on the phone to delete the demo, T-mobile tech support couldn't figure it out and they told me to call LG. LG said there is no way to delete pre-loaded apps. This one goes back tomorrow.
this has more than one ringtone, what are you all talking about? Just go to SETTINGS/PROFILES and insert any of several default sounds (EDIT). What I do hate is that you can't delete your text msgs all at once, so you gotta delete one by one (so it it regularly)

The texting is actually nice and searches words out for you. Just one ringer tone but that is ok. It is very basic and durable. Upgraded to a slide out because I can text faster that way. And btw, I went T Mobile because of the T-mobile wedding dance video. lol :)

We want phones that are durable (3-5+ years) have good battery life, and earpieces that don't sound like people are too lazy to hold their phone. I was heavily considering the LG Optimus T or the GarminAsus-Garminphone, each for free (2 year contract). We like simplicity, but I'm also planning ahead for tech-compatibility. Should I consider this phone?

I just got this phone and I'm having trouble with it. When I put it on silent mode it always vibrates. It won't let me mute it so that it won't do anything when it's on silent mode. How do I make it silent? And how do I make there be no sound when I take a picture?
@KelThePerson Go under Settings, Then Profiles, and when you scroll over silent, click options and then edit. It allows you to choose to keep vibrate ON or OFF.

@arslanbali I think what you don't realize is that there is still a market for these types of phones. No everyone is 16 years old and wants a phone with a bunch of useless features. Some people actually want the simplicity and prefer not to pay extra monthly fees for things they won't use. As long as people will buy it, they will keep making it.

@descent0016 If you hold your phone in your right hand you won't touch the black strip meaning you won't loose signal strength and yes, the cheap LG's won't loose signal strength because they are made or plastic, not glass and aluminium.
@AppleMacgic911 but im a right handed person, i hold the phone on the left and then use my right index finger to control the phone, and by the way, a good phone is the one that can adapt with the human ergonamics, not the other way around. That humans will adjust for the sake of the phone
