omg it takes u aproxametly 7 bmins to hav ur insulin! it takes to bout 3 seconds , check insuln , check need le then stick it in n push down im 11 comon!!!!!!!!!!!! btw i got same pen :D lol n neva shake yout insulin!
Absolutely never shake your insulin or you're going to denaturate it. Insulin is a peptide hormone. By shaking it you're going to break the chemical bonds affecting its tertiary and secondary structure. This guy is doing something wrong.
The guy in this video is a friend of mine. I'm not in China now, but he is. And if I remember it right he said he'd seen the 5mm BD ones but not the 6mm Novofines.
This is complete BS. I've been diabetic and have given myself insulin shots for 3 years. It takes me exactly 10 seconds, (from beginning to end) to give myself one shot. This guy took 7 minutes?? is he for real??
Sorry but thats total BS. Until proven I'm sticking with my insulin. (Although I don't take 7 mintues like this fool). You must clearly not be a diabetic if you're advising this Essiac shit. Just another gimmick from a company who IMO shouldn't be allowed to trade. Sorry has to get my point across there. These unproven treatments could potentially KILL someone.
At first when i saw this video i was thinking "what's taking all day?" but i do think it's very detailed and quite ok picture quality, so it could be a bit of a guide for newbies. I have had T1 for little more than 2.5 years now, tried both pens and pump and i prefer pens! The novopen rocks! As for the time... I change cartridge and inject in 2 minutes :P
And a question to lovetide1: Is this very soon after diagnosis?
What the heck is up with the betadyne and the giant swabs? those must cost way more to get your hands on than a regular alcohol swab.
Anyway, you should never shake a mix of insulin, you should roll it, because you create bubbles, but you shook the hell out of it, and then waited like, eleven years, til the two insulins were no longer blended.
Maybe this can also help youtube[dot]com/watch?v=JojpYbjA7iE to minimize the risk of getting a diabetes.. already helped many people... or visit alphalipid[dot]net/download.htm
3. It is totally fine to inject fast, at least with such small doeses as 10 units.
4. Try to re-use the needles as little as possible- they go blunt and can harm you both with the bluntness and risk for bacterial infection.
5. If on a mix insulin... Try to go onto MDI if possible, that gives more control since you can give extra shots if needed to correct a high reading or if you want to enjoy something special :)

I was diagnosed as type 1 along with diabetic ketoacidosis(DKA;糖尿病酮症酸中毒) syndrome at 2004.10.17(year.month.day), I created this video about half a year ago by a 30,0000(30万) pixels web camera and posted it here(youtube) in the same day.
I don't inject anymore, i have an insulimpump and i would tell ya. You will just push a button before you eat and dont use the needle and find a spot to inject.
I also have a novonordisk pen, but mine's for injecting Novolog, not Novolin. Mine is a NovoPenJr, and they come in yellow and green. They're called juniors because they go up in half units.
The model of insulin which I used is "Novolin 30R" which is a brand of Novonordisk company(Denmark), Novonordisk has a manufactory in TianJin city of China. You can locate TianJin city from map by looking for the neighbor city of BeiJing, the capital of China.
Do you believe that I and others chinese diabetics will reuse one needle for 20+ times? For me, one needle will continue to use until the penfill is empty (12+ days, 24+ injections).
I dont think you should be using the same needle 20 times like that, it's very unclean and you have on your self to blame if you get an infection fomr doing that. Are you that poor that you have to use the one needle over and over again? Are the Chinese government that cruel to you all over there?
ur not supposed to shake it, you roll it in your palms. hey if you want an air bubble stuck under your skin, thats your problem.

From now, I begin to use NovoMix 30 instead of Novolin 30R. NovoMix 30 can be injected right before meal, no waiting needed, so it's very convenient.

Hmm after studying this clip quite a few times... I can come with some advices...
1. Do not shake insulin- just rolling the pen between your hands is enough for the insulin to mix, shaking it can do more harm than good.
2. Try to pinch some more bodyfat to inject into- in this clip it even looks rather painful.
UpNorthS 4 years ago
I was diagnosed on 12-11-2004 w/ type 1. yep. Shots really suck. You should really get a pump. They are MUCH better.
CindelMae 4 years ago
:O You gotta be kidding! You were diagnosed just 3 days after me! :O October 14th 2004 for me :P
Are you using some "novomix" insulin? I'm on novorapid and levemir :) Inject 4-7 times everyday, but it doesn't really bother me :)

Is that true that diabetics turn to heavy IV drugs easily, ya know, cuz of the experience with needles?
I wonder where insulin made in China really comes from...

i had this pen before, but never found that insulin for it. so i just use normal injections. the whole process takes me well, 10 sec.

i am diabetic too.
well first u shudnt shake the insulin like that. i think its written in the label.
second, y u wait too long to insert, just stick it in.
and y u wait all that to pull. its says only 6 sec, i think.
xmido 5 years ago
I want to make the insulin more even, so I shake the insulin like that. Will the shake harmfull to insulin ?
lovetide1 5 years ago
yea its harmful. when u shake violently the insulin crystalizes and becomes less functional. shake it carefully. :)
