Thanks ZEG8704. Used to dance to this tune some 20years ago. Enjoyed singing along even though I didn't understand a word of the lyrics. A translation will be much appreciated.
@ececmugrad Mory Kante's original Yeke Yeke is played in the background of 1990 epic Agneepath, when Amitabh Bachchan is being shown in Mauritius. Copy Balanced!
well, rest of the music of Hindi 'tamma tamma' is lifted from Mory Kante's 'yeke yeke', u can listen to the music of the other song. Mix and match of two songs, and god knows how many more.
This is one of those situations where copying another song brings good to the original. If Jumma Chumma De De and Tamma Tamma Loge were never done, I would have gone through my entire life without ever knowing the name Mory Kante.
Not to justify plagiarism..Sometimes it is too difficult to resist yourself from using a good tune.. these original tunes are adapted to such an extent you may find it creative..
in the early 90's bollywood ripped off this song into two of the biggest hits of all time! rocketting the careers of amitabh bachan, sanjay dutt and madhuri dixit.
amitabh bachchan was already a legend then, but you can say it boosted him up again. i think in my opinion, when we rip songs, it is obviously wrong. but usually what we do with them, sounds better than the original. what do you think?
Sometimes we do good, like in these cases. But in the long run this is killing the originality of Indian music directors. Moreover these days they have started directly dumping the songs from Western stars, at least Bappida used to use some of his talents!
@salaudin Don't forget to mention that it brought a wider recognition to Mory kante too...not to say that copying is justified. Coming to think of if, there are only 8 notes, & can be arranged only in so many ways. Who is entitled to claim of ownership on music?

sometimes the remix or revised version of a song is better than the original, in this case chumma chumma de de is a better version
