  • in the follow up video she tells him that the football team gets 100% of her love multiple times of the day as they run a gang bang on her to get in shape for football season and all he gets to ride is his bik as she as access to beamers and other expensive cars to be see around town in.

  • But when you add it up, that only comes to 43!!!!

    XD

    ahh memories of this show

  • Meatloaf should've made an appearance and played this song himself.

  • I like how he *loaned* her his ring. "Imma need that back after we leave 'The Point'.

  • BAW HAH! I'm gonna memorize this song and sing it to my wife on our first anniversary in front of everybody. She'll kick my ass but good, but I'll go out on a high note!! 18% for his LEATHER JACKET! Classic!

  • 6% for his Springsteen tapes, LOL!

  • this is great

  • "Eight hundredths of the time you're the only girl I'm dreaming of."

    I love this song :)

  • Who else wanted to smack the guy for loving his leather jacket more than the girl?

  • Well, that 8% is still a pretty strong part!

It's what I tell the kids, all those percents rise like the tide and run together into one harmonious whole; it's like an ice cream sundae.

Okay, I bought into the song!

  • @culturaleyes It's called Ghost of a Chance, it's on youtube.

  • does anyone remember the skit with the pizza delivery boy that goes to a haunted house? I've been looking for that.

  • Actually if she's matching the car she's doing pretty good, depending on the guy.

  • As much as I love this song, I have to agree, with the fact that this song was named one of the most insincere love songs of all time. Any girl in real life would just dump him.

  • @dubs19842009

Insincere? Mebbe, but one of the most honest songs as well; our dude does spell out what he means, and pretty thoroughly at that.

  • Youtube: impossible to stump.

  • "I already gave away 92% but I'm saving all the rest for you" is the same line I tried to use on the IRS when they sent my tax bill...

Didn't work out so good...oops! Here comes the warden. Guess it's lockdown time...

  • He keeps a cute cheerleader in his locker? Hmmm.

  • After this year, he may want to rethink how much he loves the Giants... Seriously.

  • This song is so Meatloaf-y : )

  • Mathematically speaking, she should dump him!

He loves his jacket, the New York Giants, and his Springsteen tapes more than her.

  • @LocoYoFla I always thought that was the underlying subtext of the song. He's trying to get her to end the relationship herself, by giving her backhanded compliments.

  • The jerk! lol This show helped me on my long journey to becoming a nerd!

  • totally... btwn this and ghostbusters cartoon, I was done for.

  • he loves his leather jacket more than anything. hilarious

  • so hilarious. and he likes his science tutor more than her too!

  • OH, this maybe is why I liked the New York Giants growing up!

  • I have been humming this for 20 years, damn has it been that long.

  • THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!!! I've been searching for vids from Square One for years. This one and Weird Al's "Patterns" in particular, and they're both FINALLY on here. I loved this show as a kid, and it's been at least 15 years since I've seen this one. Watching it now, it's like Meatloaf meets Springsteen and I love it even more haha. You'll never see another show like this.

  • Atleast he's honesy. Hey bitch, not all my love is for you, so stick it. lol

I remember this song as a kid. GREAT SHOW :).

  • She's a smart one to grab that jacket... as long as she keeps it on she's got 20% instead of the usual rate.

  • 0.18 plus 0.08 is 0.26, not 0.20

  • @MenloMarseilles

You mean 26? He loves the jacket 18% and her 8%.

  • @MenloMarseilles Since when is 18+8 20?

  • @MenloMarseilles Actually 26%. Didn't Square One teach you anything?

  • Odd. Can't ignore the Juan Cougar - John Cougar thing, but it's reminiscent of some of the songs Meat Loaf performed, particularly the Jim Steinman ones.

  • The description says John Cougar......but this is obviously a Springsteen sendup, right?

  • omg !

we have to watch an episode of this every

    friday for school.

  • Have to?!?! I used to rush home from school to see this.

I wish my teachers were cool enough to show Square One.

  • I showed it today!

  • No dude, this is a straight parody of Meatloaf's "Give Me the Future"

  • Except for the fact that he pulls out his Springsteen tape, loves the Giants and is playing the same guitar that's on the cover of "Born to Run."

It's definitely pulling from Mr. Loaf, The Boss and Mellencamp.

  • You'll find it on YouTube under the title "Modern Girl"....yeah, it's pretty close, not quite an exact parody, but definitely that's one song they're after.

Where is THIS on public television today??

  • yes this show was the bomb. I still remember that "times every number you can find, it all comes back to nine"

  • I love that he loves his science tutor more than his parents.

  • and his girlfriend as much as his bike

  • @NotEvenScience And even more for the New York Giants... BOOOOOO!!!!!

  • @djtrixen To be fair, I think this came out around the time the Giants won their first Super Bowl, so a lot of bandwagoning could've been going on.

  • Typical teenager... only 4% of his love for his parents. Tsk tsk tsk...

  • I vould SLAP my boyfriends so hard if he ever sang ANYTHING like that to me!!

  • this was the thing that made me a misogynistic child

  • Man, the memories of watching this as a kid. This along with Reading Rainbow and 3-2-1 Contact.

  • The guy might have dressed 50's but the girl was pure 80's from the top of her frizzy perm to her lace anklets with plastic hi heels straight out of ZZ-top's Legs video. Notice too the big plastic hoop earrings.

  • I worked at Square One in the late 80s. It's an homage to Meat Loaf.

  • You did?

  • Yes, I did. I was an intern/gopher. My office was next door to the people who wrote the music.

  • Those folks did a great job. I've had this and a few other Square One songs stuck in my head for the past... almost 20 years? Rock on, math geeks!

  • Seriously? if so, that's awesome!

  • Square One at its most square--that's what I love!

  • The poor parents - he loves everything more than them, lol! ;)

  • OMG! I adore this song and loved the show. Thanks for posting.

  • My wife is perfectly fine with the fact that Springsteen, bacon and the New York Giants are all ahead of her. I do like her better than my leather jacket, though. The sleeves are a little too long.

  • Anybody notice the thing he loves the most is something that isn't alive and he wears on his back?

  • That's why he says "If You Don't Like It You Can Take a Hike".

    lol

  • it was alive once

  • "Juan Cougar's girlfriend settles for being loved as much as his bike and less than a football team."

    lulz. XD XD

  • I love this song

  • Oh man it used to crack me up when he said the New York Football Giants and the football player came out of the locker! There is nothing to compare to great kids shows like this now!

  • Wow...he loves his bike the same amount as his girlfriend, and twice as much as his mom and dad, and the thing he loves most in the world is his jacket. He's an interesting fellow.

  • Is this a parody of Meatloaf?

  • I believe so - it's brilliant!

  • even before he hinted at it in the song, I'm thinking Springsteen

  • No, it's a parody of John Cougar Mellencamp.

  • What song?

  • I don't know - it does sound like "Thunder Road" by Springsteen , but the artist's name is Juan Cougar.

  • Seems like a fusion of Springsteen, Mellencamp and Meat Loaf to me.

  • agree with the fusion

  • I heard the lyrics and TOTALLY thought Meat Loaf!!!

  • It's nice that he cares more for his jacket than for her. She must feel so special!

  • "Math Talk" had this same discussion except with Buster as Juan Cougar and Sylvia as the girl.

  • oh man, I used to watch Square One when I was just like 3 or 4. thanks for bringing back some good memories!

  • Cute song! Of course love only grows the more you divide it up, so I taught my kids. But the girl did the best 8%!

  • OMG

  • So she only gets his love 2/25's of the time.

  • Yeah, or only 1 hour, 55 minutes, 12 seconds per day!

  • That could've been serviced in today's "Mike and Juliet" show, as they were discussing relationships.

  • Thank you!!!

  • there was a video where larry cedar was in like a roman thing. care to load that?

  • Mathematics of Love. I just put it up.

  • Sweet, you uploaded ones I haven't seen in nearly 20 years.

  • 8/100ths of the time you're the only girl I'm dreaming of!
