I always thought this scene was silly, especially considering how good the later Hector vs. Achilles fight scenes were. The character of Boagrius is clearly just set up to show that Achilles is a bad-ass, but this ridiculous non-fight ruins it. Boagrius doesn't even lift his shield to defend himself - an idiotic mistake that no experienced fighter and champion would never make.
