  • AIRWAVE SPORT 2

  • Main mistake: no tension in the outside brake at all! watch closely and y'all see it.

  • Pilot Error..

  • fake

  • Total wanker

  • Normrally wingovers will create high sink rates, up to 20m/s. This is crucial in order to keep the speed as sharp turns will cause your airspeed to bleed.Ridge lift is not powerfull enought to sustain wingovers. Keeping pressure on the prakes is only to sence dengerous airspeeds and will not help you when you run out of speed. Pulling the brakes harder on the outside when the pressure is low is dangerous. Continiue the turn, and let the wing gain airspeed.

  • I live in holland, and we have similar conditions, so I cant take this movie out of my head every time Im doing wingovers since the cause to me is not fully determined. All I do is to make sure the to keep the tension on both sides and flying the glider as a series of turns instead of relying on the swinging motion. In this way keeping the center of gravity directly under the wing, were in the swinging motion youre pulling the outer wing downwards. The loads gliders are not designed to take.

  • really bad piloting, this is the guys that put the paragliding sport in bad light... and bumps up the prize on ensurance !!!

  • LOW PRESSURE WINGOVER MY ASS-Try wingovers at 30 feet ALTIUDE next time IDIOT

  • Lacking an airframe, all PG's are unairworthy. Something similar has happened to virtually every PG pilot I know. Before you try flying one of these things, search and watch this on YouTube:

    Disaster !! Bad Collapse Handling

  • se mato!!!

  • why would you do wingovers 10meters above ground? lesson learned, I hope

  • totally pilot mistake !

  • Lucky he paid the extra and got a harness with good back protection....not.

  • The safest paraglider is called a hang glider.

  • @winterka100 The safest hang glider is called a sailplane.

.... the only thing safer than that is flying in your dreams.

(unless you've just fallen asleep at the wheel)

    (or the stick)

Look, everyone just stay indoors OK!

  • 0:12 I think the pucker factor was at least an 11 out of 10.

  • so as he turned square to the eind it collapsed the winward side of the wing? must remeber when i learn to fly these haha

  • need a bit more outside brake at the apex, but at least it was sandy down there....

  • is the kite ok? i hope it wasnt damaged

  • hahaha fucking stupid americans

  • @leklek69 fuck you slant eyed chink

  • I bet that hurt his legs!

  • did he died??

  • Hey, don't be so rough on the beach!

  • OMG... Is the parachute ok?

  • @qpadkz that not a parachute dumbass

  • can someone please tell me which paraglider is durable and good for beginners, also one that is suitable for powered flight and can also be flown well without a motor, thanks.

  • @eb352mm

Best source for equipment information is your qualified instructor. Find one here:

    usppa - org

    ushpa - aero

That said, the Mac Para Muse 2 is great for beginners and has a riser with two hook-in positions for powered and unpowered flight.

    macpara - com

But there are many other great wings. Just make sure that the one you choose is certified.

  • ...10.5 seconds

  • pilot induced watch his right hand at...

  • schöhner sport

  • I bet his knees came up and knocked him out. I know, I used to ride dirtbikes, it can be done.LOL

  • kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • He bounced like a Kangaroo! LOL!

  • wow he dropped like 15 or more feet, maybe 20

  • Do wory, I'll be fine - just shovelling all this sand out of my ass!!

  • When you start paragliding they tell you "never do acro" LOL, and what do all these people do when they learn to fly? .... ACRO! LOL HAHAHAHA

  • lol, very true!

  • wats acro? lol

  • Performing stunts/tricks ;).. like loopings, wingovers, SAT's, helicopters etc... all kind of acrobatic manouvres ;)

  • oh thanks :) lol

  • could have been sharp pointy rocks instead of sand...

  • is he dead?

  • definitely... NOT safe to do wingovers when the wind is blowing hard...

  • @muertovivovillano thats not paragliding thats soaring you need the wind to fly

  • About those PLF's...

  • Comment removed

  • It´s sidewind! look at others pilot´s. Therefore kolaps, of cours not very smart to do hard wingovers in that conditions...

  • Hi Alex,

Could you please send me your number so I can call you about any of these paragliding clips? Thank you.

  • Lucky it was a sandy beach - He/she's probably done that loads of times before but not in those conditions or that site perhaps. Makes a big difference when you horsing about.

  • Definitely too much inside brake and not enough outside. At altitude you can dive and spin, but you have time to correct it.... That had to hurt.

  • Ouch

  • Ouch Did u sustain serious injury GP? Hope your ok after it? Cheers

  • Im no expert but it just looked like he didnt use enough oposite brake to keep the tension and pressure in the wing as he was braking and weight shift left with such a degree of bank you need to use that right brak to stop the wing from collapsing.

  • that was dumb at that altitude

  • unfortunate....hope your ok

  • Lucky he landed on sand. too much acro for the wind power and its hability

  • what a dumbass

  • ohh no! Than pain!

  • seems like the guy just got a bit cocky after making the 1st turn so easily!

bad luck i guess!!looks like down south in west aus??

  • Gah, I hope he's ok

  • man you pg pilots have some balls 100s feet up dangling from a bed sheet. ill stick to rigid hangliders thanks those collapses look rough hat off to ya

  • perfect conditions being loud as fuck and mind/ass numbing vibrations at 5-8am? sounds like a great sport to me. Free Flight rules. (yes, I do both)

  • We can perform a simple and effective test...

Check out youtube for accidents involving "Paragliding" then accidents involving "Powered Paragliding". Nuff Said.

  • IMHO PPG gets boring fast ... little challenge, you just zoom about. Same with water sports give me the sailboat over the jetski any day.

  • You call using youtube as a source of accident data "effective test"?

Do you think that if he had been using a motor the collapse would not have happened?

  • It's called ridgesoaring. The conditions sound and appear perfect. This pilot made a poorly timed wingover, just as easy to do in calm conditons. Ditch you motor & ride a 8m/s thermal to the moon, then see if you can make that statement.

  • Ridge soaring and thermals are very fun and rewarding form of PG, try it for yourself and I am sure you will love it.

  • Did he broke his leg/legs or something? Or was he ok? Thank you!

  • To all experienced pilots, please check out my vid and tell me if this is to dangerous

  • two words: "broken legs"

  • At least he's alive (most probably). I just saw another video "Disaster !! Bad Collapse Handling" and it looked very bad.

  • arkadaşım gecmiş olsun

  • oooooh! owwee! thas gotta hurt!

  • ohh bad,,, i know loekken....

  • I'm sure that woke him up this morning...

  • Ouch! Good to see what NOT to do, Thanks

  • nice

  • Szjet

  • He is a Swede from Gothenburg (as I self) age +50, 110kg! And it´s a brand new Mustang at that moment for him. He is almost OK now but his back take a lot of damage of course. The main thing is headwind 45 degrees angle and a low pressure wingover... say no more :(

  • What wing is it? It definatly an Airwave but any idea what model? Looks quite big so i dont think its the burn or Burn EX?

  • What happens if you are at high altitude and then starts raining??

  • i dunno but ist gotta be very bad.

  • I've never seen anyone bounce off sand before. Ouch! How badly hurt was the pilot?

  • what happens with the pilot???

  • I dont think the pilot is here

  • I hope that you are better now, and the injures were not great. Can you tell us the amount of experience you have with wing overs, and flying time. Do you think that your weight shifting along with not enough brake pressure on right side were the problem?

  • ...upper wing side it is ..

  • Exactly same thing happened to me on a dune flight ... except I was higher and could reopen before killing my feet ! .. Pretty scary anyway. With such a strong wind, when the wing over isn't "facing" the wind, the air makes some pressure on the ..hum ... "wrong side" of the glide (extrados in French) .... Where was that anyway? looks like a great spot!

  • This is the west coast of Denmark at a spot called Loekken, you can go approx 10-12 km, the pilot is Swedish or German, and is still alive.

At the westcoast you should be carefull doing low altitude wingower, especially if the wind is comming at the hill at an angel.

  • is that you? or some one else? and the reason the pilot said is ..?

  • lack of presure on the right hand break.

  • How did you do that? It´s looks a normal low wingover!
