nice playin.. im trying to get my slap style down... loads of tutors say youre suppost to play with your thumb/palm paralel to string... with your arm more horizontal.. but ive become used to playing like in this video, with a more vertical stance and can play pretty fast... any suggestions?

u wanna have ur thumb out like your hitchiking, not only straight, but with the top part bent back and erect, and u wanna have ur popping finger(s) in an arc shape, not straight or too curved. When you flick your wrist to slap with ur thumb flick so that ur thumb hits the string and then VERY quickly returns to the original position, or follow through past the string and hit the string again on your way back up to perform a double slap. with practice you will get very fast.

yeah i agree. i played with a couple of groups as a bassist and accompanied a VCE group and i agree that there are so many songs where all the bassist plays is just the root notes in a progression (there are exceptions such as schism and call of ktulu). thats the one bad thing about rock bass, there are few songs that are challenging or fun. of course there are some really good songs like addicted to that rush and hysteria.

@ChubsyMalone180 well of course i do make up bass lines in some situations but i was referring to a situation i find alot of bassists (i know) in. that is the situation where the band plays songs that only use boring bass lines. this of course does not apply to all bassists at all and i know there are many situations where bassists get a really good part in songs.

i can't figure out we're i can select manual wah...the pedal is always on volume which is cool for swells but how do i switch it to wah?

I had this pedal for sooooo long before I figured it out. I haven't used it in a while but there's a way to do it through the options. But, if u push down on the toe end of the pedal ull feel a click and it switches to wah. Same thing to switch it back.
