I HATE those riders that crop their horses, they deserve to be bucked off, When a horse refuses it means it does not want to do the jumping cropping just gets the horse more balistic.

@GallopGirl088 it tells them that they have to do what the rider says when they tell them to do it. its not abuse or anything and the horse has to learn to listen to the rider no matter what they want to do

Proof that a horse needs to bond with a rider who is much like them...you can't force ANYTHING to do what it doesn't wanna do....the horse needs to pick its rider, not the other way around....The best horse is the one that chooses its comfortable rider!!

If you jump on my back and I don't like you too much, it ain't going to work! You can't force anyone/thing to do it YOUR way, it must come natural. The horse wants to work TOGETHER, hence a relationship, especially a bond...I believe that any horse could be a winner al long as it feels safe/secure with a compatible suitor.

just because the rider and horse make it to devon does not mean they are perfect every rider has bad distances that one the pony spooked a little and left her off balance. i have shown at devon and know what it takes and know she is a good rider. no one has a perfect course everytime they step foot into a ring

yes, many of the ponies do it. It's for fun as well, obviously not a class at pony finals, but yes, there are ribbons. I don't actually think many other shows have it, I know Old Salem, Fairfield, Ox Ridge (all in my area, not sure if they're big nation-wide shows or not : D) don't have them, and they're rated the same.
