  • What do you do to condition your athletes to allow them to workout with maximum weights multiple times a day?

  • "last one for the money!" ......"yeah....."LOL

  • what are those handles called

  • @victorrod9669 straps LOL

  • @victorrod9669 Love handles. You put straps around the bar so you don't have to use a full clean grip

  • @BROZKNOWS How does that not destroy your wrists man? I did front squats with only 185 and it had so much pressure on mine, any advice?

  • @Nickreedyt It should be resting on your posterior deltoids, not wrists.

  • @EndlersaurusRex anterior

  • @BROZKNOWS Sorry for the misinformation; thanks for the correction.

  • thats alot of weight to from squat

  • no money :(

  • Good grief! The ease with which he handles this astounding weight is impressive. He should be top ranked in international lifting.

  • Have you posted any with a powerlifting bar? I'd be curious how those felt to you, heavy-wise. That and I don't have access to any Olympic bars. Do you think you'd do lower bar(back) or not front squat with those bars? Great work either way.

  • @jshealy Actually we picked up an Eleiko IPF bar. it is 20kg, but 1mm thicker. It's a bit easier to squat with, however when it starts to oscillate -- look out!

  • @BROZKNOWS Ya do you have to time your lifts with the oscillation of the bar? I've never used anything but a regular old olympic so I have no experience with it? I'm assuming it can change the dynamics of the lift quite a bit?

  • @luthmhor anything over 170 it becomes very important.

  • monster

  • This is raw power man, its guys with dedication and gifts like this that restore my faith in humanity, truly a modern day Hercules right here

  • the weight itself was shaking in fear, just like me...

  • how tall are you?

  • Can you imagine a drunk punk trying to fight this guy at the bar without knowing what he does for a living? what a mess.

  • @LVDVSMAGNVS it happened already at a party, only it was 7 guys.

  • @BROZKNOWS and what happened ? :D

  • @BROZKNOWS im curious what happened to those 7 guys? id like to believe you kicked their asses but 7 on 1 is alot lol :P

  • @BROZKNOWS did you win!?!?!

  • @BROZKNOWS was it a mess?

  • @rogue8853 I wasn't there, however his ABG backup came, Brett - who is a 2x national collegiate boxing champ @245 pounds. and a 230kg Squat. I heard the stories after and had a few laughs.

  • @BROZKNOWS I've actually looked into this Brett Rather and seen him train. Would definitely not want to be the guy knocked on my ass by him! Haha

  • @BROZKNOWS really 7 guys? lol

  • @LVDVSMAGNVS Well he's a weightlifter, not a fighter...

  • Awesome, and here comes the 250 kg clean and jerk!

  • in-fucking-creadible!!

  • Damn I have to watch your vids before each leg day!

  • what's his best ever front squat? 300?

  • Awesome video! Keep 'em coming! Watching Pat train is an inspiration.I have to cut my front squat sets short because the pain is too great in my wrists. (Carpal Tunnel) I'm definetly gonna invest in those straps so I can really take it to the next level.

  • How do you develop hamstrings? I squat 150kgs all the way down for 6 reps and still my hamstrings are skinny as chicken legs.

  • What is holding onto on the bar?

    different kind of bar?

  • gues pat didnt want the money hhahahahaha

  • Everytime i go down for a squat my knees crack and it sounds so gross and it acutally kind of hurts. What can i do to stop my knees/other parts of my leg to stop cracking when i go down?

  • @linkjmf make sure that your knees are tracking directly over your toes when you squat. If that doesn't help, then try different foot positions.

  • @BROZKNOWS My hip has been real fucked up lately, hurt it squatting but not really sure how because it didn't start hurting until about 2 days later. I think its because of my toes and feet were pointing outward to much. Have you ever heard of that causing problems? What position and direction would you recomend for your feet?

  • @linkjmf try to sit back, not just go down. like u want to sit on a chair.

  • Jesus Christ why do people think using the knees for their natural function is going to cause injury? It's when people use that half ass range of motion that causes unnecessary sheering force to the patella, this was a beautiful display of how to strengthen the knees if anything. Not to mention 250kg on front squats is beast.

  • @ihateschoolmt thank you.

  • @ihateschoolmt thank you, someone that knows their shit on how to prevent knee injury

  • @ihateschoolmt

I agree with your point but why does he go so deep? He's going well past parallel on every rep.

  • @afghanforlife because he motherfucking can

  • @afghanforlife because thats how squats should be done

  • hahaha i was expecting a fifth but hes like nope

  • What's his best front squat?

  • @BROZKNOWS 8o Get out of town!

  • That was some awsome lifting man i run my own pt business, the next time client asks me how to do front squats this is what i will show, cheers.

  • tell the hater trolls that cant do it to post up there 250kg squats!!!!

  • Awesome work! Very impressive. Whoever hit dislike is a dumb ass.

  • how u do that?

  • I also got an wrist injury and tried to use straps instead of holding the bar but it was very weird so I tryied to hold the bar so narrow as possible and only in the fingers and it worked because the pressure from the bar is just on the shoulders, maybe PAT can try this also?

  • Unreal power man. What supplements do you take, or do you take any?

  • THIS GUY IS RETARDED!!!!!!! MOST DUMB AND RISCI WORKOUT EVER!

Take weight off and do it correct, and you won't get injured as easy eíther!

Don't learn from this, only that such workout is stupid unless you want a broken knee! or an injured crippled back!

  • @asvid When I think of retarded, I imagine someone who is so mentally numb that comprehending any logic whatsoever or trying to explain fundamental ideas is a complete waste of time, unless of course you are trying to test your patience. The diarrhea that spilled out of your mouth makes it painfully obvious that video games are not helping your I.Q. Try getting off the couch once in a while and go outside. The sun will help thaw your brain.

  • @BROZKNOWS nice squats man keep it up

  • @asvid How is this dumb and risky? Risci? dumbass he is doing it perfectly flat back and drop as far as you can go. Your proly a middle school kid who jus started freshman football workouts and you think you kno a thing or two about weightlifting. Jus shut the hell upwhen you obviously have no clue what your talking about

  • @asvid When people don't understand or they don't try to understand something they criticize it or condemn it. It's very obvious you have no clue what you're talking about. Seek to understand before you speak.

  • @capscave Trolls will be Trolls

  • @asvid "broken knee" and "injured crippled back"...superb!! Where was it you acquired your Doctorate?

  • @asvid Yes Mr. Mendes, take some weight off and make sure you don't get any stronger or improve your lifting at all and do nice slow reps just above parallel with 100 pounds and then go do arm curls and abs for a half hour, go on the elliptical and call it a day (note: sarcasm)

His form is PERFECT, the weight is INCREDIBLE. One question for Broz: Do you usually use straps on heavy front squats or was there an injury/mobility reasoning? Just curious cuz I was thinking of buying some...

  • @philt4141 yes, just when there is a wrist injury.

  • @asvid

says a guy whos uploaded videos only consist of WoW footage :)

  • Disappointed there was no epic Pat Mendes one liner after the set!

    "Its retarded"

"Holy shit, how did I do that?"

    "Time to rack it!"

    :D

  • @bigislander72

    LOL

I can't wait to hear the one liner he's gonna bust out after he nails the gold-winning C&J.

  • @JacktheDaniels "I'm so goood" "Rack it"

  • What do you think helps more with power, front squats or regular squats?

  • @jabeaudry back squats

  • @BROZKNOWS I have problems with my wrist too.. can you please advise on how to do this and how to tie it to the bar?? Greatly appreciated

  • I've watched a lot of your videos, and your strength is crazy, i'm 21 and only about half as strong as you are. Keep up the insane work bro :)

  • o i see

  • why strapped to the bar on the front squat?

  • @MrTroy7878 wrist issues

  • @BROZKNOWS why are front squats harder?

  • @sdfefde try them both

  • "last one for the money"

Pat ignores it and racks it. Haha only Pat knows his own body. Four at that weight is crazy .

  • @shortfatandcrass we had a bet. he lost (not really)

  • I hope these guys are competing in national competitions. It'd be nice to see more of US lifters in 2012!

  • how big is this guys waist out of curiosity? looks like he was genetically made to be a powerlifter :D

  • im sorry to sound like a complete noob, but ive read that he maxes out every session. am i being completely naive by asking if the average guy can handle that? like i am aware that 'overtraining' is screamed nowadays whenever you even mention squatting more than 3 times a week, but maxing everyday? does he take breaks from squatting? thanks

  • @sr19 no breaks. not only max daily, but 2x / day or 14 sessions / week.

It is a gradual build up. Not starting at max daily, but progressive to this point.

  • @BROZKNOWS what do u mean by gradual buildup? like in the workout or throughout the week in the training sessions?

  • so you work upto a daily max then drop back and do doubles/triples? What determines how far you back off and how many sets you do? thanks for any info - squats are my limiting factor (112 clean, 110 front sq!)

  • @tomphillips105 10-15kg less then the daily 1rm. do as many as you can. the more you do, the sooner you will PR

  • @BROZKNOWS Thanks!

  • great lifter, hope to see him snatch and clean &J world numbers!

  • pat mendes = gorilla.

  • what muscle does that work?

  • haha.. Sean, that's classic. You should have posted that under the snatch vid. That's usually the question I hear @ golds. LOL

  • @seanwaxman

    biceps and chest...

  • So impressive

  • weight loss??

  • I want to be jelious but I cant help but cheer him on! Go America!

  • he only weighs 125kg? damn im around 105kg and this beast has over 200lbs on my atg olympic front squat! Keep up the work kid hope to see some WR's someday out of you!

  • What's up with the weight loss? Isn't he almost 10kg lighter than some of the earlier videos?

  • He's been training hard and wants to look like Pudz.

  • He wants to look like Pudzianowski!!?? He is a great lifter but looking like Pudz takes years upon years of training. Good luck to him.

  • I love it!

  • good job

  • this dude is gonna be a legend in a few years omg

  • Future world champion right here.

  • beast.

  • Brad Gillingham does front squats that way also but probably due to flexibility issues.

  • dope videos, great inspiration

  • Smart -- I've seen other world-class lifters do that. So you never saw anyone else do it before you first tried it? Definitely better than I-Dream-of-Genie-style. Looks like the 250 CJ will come w/ the wrist recovery!!

  • The first time I tried it was in the early 90's. At that time I hadn't seen anyone do it before. I also had a wrist injury and wanted to continue to train somehow.

  • Nice, just curious why the straps for FS?

  • It was my idea years ago. We do it when there is a wrist issue. It maintains the same positions as the clean but takes pressure of wrist to allow the legs to do more work. When there is an injury we train around it.
