  • add him as 5th musketeer!! Dumas agreed it

  • wonderful as it should be !

  • Wow...these Japanese announcers are so...respectful. American announcers yak almost non-stop...

  • that's what i call a "show man"

  • mmeet the 2011 D'Artagnan "tenor90210 D'Artagnan"

  • Magnifique!

  • the most EPIC figure skating performance I have ever seen. for 14 years I only had it in my head. THANKS GOD FOR YOUTUBE !!!

  • I met him in 1993. This guy had CHARISMA written all over him, lol! He was charming, selfconfident and cheeky, to say the least!!! ;)

  • Best entertainer on the ice from his era by a long shot!

  • He is the best =)

  • Indimenricabile.

  • My favorite routine of his! He should have at least gotten silver at these games!

  • stll my favorite men's program of all time. the straight line footwork sequence is the high water mark.

  • Aaaaaaaamazing! This has just reminded me why it was Candeloro who was always my favorite! :)

  • ONE MAN SHOW.... Boy, what stories he used to tell in the ring!

  • @ankutzelpop true art on ice

  • he was a showman! for me, he is the best from history... the others are nice, but boring in comparison with this! best regards, Philippe, from Romania!

  • the only one who could compete with him was Alexey Yagudin!

  • This has to be one of the most delightful performances seen on ice. What's different is that it appeals to everyone. Even if you are not interested in ice skating one bit, you can't help but be charmed by this!

  • I remember watching this back then. He was the best - raised the bar. And can you imagine how much Japanese poon-tang he probably hit while he was in Nagano after that performance?

  • I met him in Gothenburg, back in 1993... WOW! What a character! Charming, handsome and a devil on the ice... My oldest son, born in 1994, was named after him, lol. I remember sitting in fron of the telly, watching this, screaming and yelling when I saw he got the bronze!

  • where can i find the music tell me plz

  • @danielx720

search: Philippe Candeloro's 『D'Artagnan』 clay doll on youtube ull get the music

  • Where can I find the music

  • but Illia Kulik won. God save to great mother Russia !!!

  • Delightful! Magnificent!

  • Notre meilleur patineur français

    MILLE MERCIS

  • @maudhenno

  • I love this skater and this program. Such height on the jumps!

  • Where can I find the song

  • Lost? Todd Eldrige was all set to take the bronze. Phillippe skated and knocked Todd off the podium. NO ONE expected Phillippe toi get a medal.

  • THIS IS "professional Ice skating"

  • I have 10 years but I remember this program.

    gracias Philippe

  • When I think of "les Trois Mousquetaires", it's always this program. I love him !!

  • this was so awesome when i first saw him! i was 11 then :D

  • MA-GNI-FIQUE !

  • Nagano were the first figure skating contest that I watched, and this guy was my fav, and I still remember this as my favorite routine ever since...

And yes, this is how men should dress, not lace and silky weird stuff they put on these days.

He lost because he missed those jumps and his pirouettes were low, but man! what a show!!!

  • @0vershade Lost? Todd Eldrige was all set to take the bronze. Phillippe skated and knocked Todd off the podium. NO ONE expected Phillippe toi get a medal.

  • @0vershade I agree with you, but those missed jumps were not the reason he "lost." He was already in fifth after the short program, so he would have needed a minor miracle to pull all the way to first. The fact that he got to third was pretty stunning. Plus, even if he had been perfect, no one was going to beat Ilia Kulik that night. Kulik certainly did not have this level of showmanship and drama, but he was flawless. One of the most authoritative wins in the Olympics.

  • @0vershade Screw that, men should dress the way they want to.

  • Why do the men of today wear uniforms that look like a woman should wear?

  • I saw when I was 15 old and still remember the spectacular performance... greetings from Mexico!

  • Same here but I was 16 ^^

    Greetings from Mexico

  • I remember seeing this performance the first time...he got robbed!

  • God he's gorgeous, he would make me swoon watching him! My heart would skip a beat!! And a real MAN on the ice, not like some!! lol I LOVE him!

  • i remember it..

    that was goood :)

not perfect but def guuuuuuuuuuuuud to watch :)

    nice moves !! =D

    esp with the sword !

  • and nice guy :o)

  • for sure ^^

  • someone know the name of the song he skater to?

  • i think its theme music from the film the three musketeers

  • I remember this, one of my favorites :D

  • What I love is how the girls in the crowd just go crazy (Of course, if I'd been there, I'd probably have swooned!)

He was a Japanese crowd favourite - and it really shows.

  • say all you want about the russians and the whole 'ballet artistry on ice' thing but no one put on a show of 'art on ice' like candeloro

  • Comment removed

  • I remember this! Oh, i loved the program, cheered all the way..and wished he was foot perfect. Sadly, that wasn't the case. But the choreography.. the details! Amazing!

  • does anybody know what music it is? pls let me know

and bravo Phillipe!!! this routine is very moving up to the day makes me teary... he was brilliant!!!

    reagards to all

  • lata mijają,a ten taniec dowolny i Candeloro są jednakowoż cudowni!

  • I remember this - big hit with the ladies! The judges were less impressed. "Not that challenging technically"...but the artistic impression carried him through. As for "man-like skating",well,he wears knee-length leather boots, and his programme is dancing and romancing with the ladies and swashbuckling sword-fights with the bad guys! That's about as Errol Flynn as you can get on ice!

  • There is a reason for his costume! The music is taken from the film D'Artagnan, who has been in former times one of the famous musketeers. Candeloro tries to give a better interpretation to this music wearing this costume, I think he did it very well!!!

  • the thing I like the most about this programme is that it's a real man-like skating. even these days, perhaps you see technically excellent skating, but too many men do girlish programmes. And I just love how he enjoys himself on the ice.

  • I LOVE this free program!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for uploading this clip I have been waiting to see this for years.

  • This includes impressive Kiss&Cry scene?

  • One of the few that dared to be more artistic than technical in an Olympic competition... and he earned his medal for that.

  • Thanks for uploading this! This was the best men's long program at the 1998 Olympics imo. My favorite by far. And to me-one of the greatest ever. The best routines don't always win.

  • great thetrical piece! can't even call it a program :) suits him SOOO well, this character is HIM! :)

  • Quelle performance adorable!

  • I met him in 1993 and asked him whether he would be in the Olympics the following year, and he simply smiled and said "I should think so.."

Very confident young man, and to this very day I adore him! :))

I saw this skate at home, in front of the tv, and I screamed from the top of my lungs when the result came up on the screene...

Marvellous programme! So powerful! And he was in control...

    Love the music too...

  • I saw this at the olympic games on tv and was totally impressed.

I remeber a scene, when he jumped to sit on the barrier and give a kiss to a lady, while his programme.

The only man I liked to watch!

  • I saw him yesterday live at Plushenko's gala! And got his autograph!

    He's amazing <3

  • Im SOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I love both him and Plushenko!!!!!!

  • he is great

it was always special occasion to watch him in his performance

    :-D

    i miss him

  • hola!

    saludos!

  • The BEST EVER of a man skating. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Phillipe is the Elvis of skating. There'll never be another!!!

  • I TOTALLY agree with you! His performance and his charisma won't be surpassed, by no one! I saw his performance 10 years ago, and I still remember it. It's just perfect! :) Unique and Original. Specially in the Gala! xD

  • j'en ai rêvée, il est magistrale . Et méritais bien plus .

  • I think he knows how to show himself...but the technique......

  • I love this program - really brilliant, exciting, fresh, and masculine.

Gracias :)

  • lol!its ok!he is REALLY cute! and he is soooooo good!!!!!lol!

  • he was simply one of the best ice-skaters of all time an this was probably the best performance ever.

  • One of the best performances of all time! So memorable!!

  • Is one of my favourite performance ever. He is the best of all that were.

  • I can never forget his performance in Nagano.

This is the best program I've ever seen.

  • Thanks for sharing this wonderful video! :)

It's amazing to watch Candeloro, he is one of my favourite figure skaters. I love his exercise like a musketeer and the music is fantastic!

  • this man is sex personified

  • Tanks !

  • Thanks !

  • Wow! How is the quality so good??

  • What a SHOWMAN! Chapeau! Technically not the most precise skater, but ARTISTICALLY he has not equal. and won't have.

Thanks for giving us this emotions!

  • BEST BEST BEST BEST

  • phillipe, you were the best

  • He makes it look so effortless - and fun. Both athlete and showman.

  • He presents the ice skater now in "FRANCE 2", he loves speeking about the wemen skaters, it's special -_- but he is funny :)

  • i heard he is a jerk

  • I've only watched a bit of figure skating in the past, mostly at the Winter Olympics...but Candeloro was the only one that I always remembered. Technically there were better (though not many...) but artistically he was a champ. The 'Candeloro Spin', the bunny hops, the facial expressions and body language...such a fun guy to watch.

  • Ole Phillipe could sure pull it out when he needed to, unlike some of the more-credentialed skaters. I always loved this program. Tres Bien! (Not sure if my French is correct, but I tried!)

  • Thank you for sharing this video. Candeloro tu es le plus grand! He is quite a funny character too.

  • Minunat! Preferatul meu!

  • In the skating that it watched, it is the favorite performance so far.

In addition, I did not think that I could look.

I thank for what I uploaded.

    Thank you very much.

  • he is the man let me fancing in ice dancing~~~~~~

  • yay Thanks much better quality. He was my favorite back in the days. What a show man. Great fast step sequence loved the show and glad he won silver.

  • In fact, he won bronze in the end, but neverthless, it was a huge success for him. Even almost 10 years after watching this gives me shivers...Brilliant!

  • Viv la Philippe!

  • brillant!!

  • That is quite a great skate!!! What is the music though? It's not the 1993 version by Michael Kamen, I have that soundtrack and this sounds nothing like it LOL.

  • I'm pretty sure that he composed this with his cousin

  • Thanks very much. Yeah when I heard that he was using "The Three Musketeers" I automatically assumed the Kamen version was it, but obviously not. Phillipe is very talented to skate AND compose though!

  • noone plz get me wrong but he is one of the skaters who doesnt seem like gay :) he is handsome and charming. also this d'artagnan show is unforgettable.

  • really brilliant!

  • wonderful

  • really is a brilliant skater with lots of inovative choriography but i do dispize him for what he sayed about brian at the tour de france

  • Great to see this again after all these years, still love it soooo much

  • Wonderful!

  • one of the best step sequence i've ever seen.

  • i am one of his fans. wonderful choreography, great performance and costume.
