  • Baldurs gate series best rpgs ever , nothing has the thrill of feeling like your inside the game!

  • This was my childhood game I loved this game when i was little and has always been my favorite game ever

  • The best game I have ever played.

    Amazing storyline, unforgotten adventures.

What can I say... You have to try it on your own. :)

Apart of that, I'm a big fan of Forgotten Realms and I did read all three BG books.

    Was SO worth it.

  • @TheDlscord I couldn't find BG books anywhere ^^ and there isnt my favo characters whatsoever (expect Minsc)

played BG2 3times thou :D got some mods to keep it interesting and i still got anomen to romance (some said he will become less annoying when you romance him but we shall see) ihave read almost every forgotten realms book what has been translated to my native language (finnish) but i really hope i would live in america or england so that i could get them more faster

  • As soon as I get back to Oblivion I'm going to get all of the BG songs into it. But for now, Skyrim!

  • In my personal opinion games today will never touch what these games had. I still to this day play BG, and Ice Wind Dale. I'm actually trying to find a good BG music playlist so I can continue playing the first one with some calming tunes of forgotten realms.

  • Whenever i play this game i always end up Romancing Aerie, dunno why, but i just love how fragile she is, and i just want to save her and take her back to her bretheren. I just can't help myself!

  • @gertona well Aerie is nice, idk why but before i forced myself to romance her i disliked her (same happened with Anomen) but now i like her as much as Viccy and Jaheira ^^

  • Obviously EPIC. Best game ever made (in my opinion)

  • @hurisija

Agree on that, although i think Planescape:Torment and BG2 should share the title Best ever games;-)

i will forever miss my loyal friends in BG2 and PS:T...because i had never found any real friends as faithful as them till now..LOL

  • @SubBlaze1 Lol never tried Planescape Tormenta. But still you never found any real friends as faithful? me either :D

  • @hurisija well PS:T is another classic by Black Isle, one of the unique in the game is, it allows gaming on both action heavy or story heavy...if we invest our skill points on charisma, we can convince most lesser boss to let us be, and if our intelligent is high enough, answer for puzzle will automatically generated for us, thus avoiding more conflict in steel;-)

  • @SubBlaze1 Sounds nice but well at first i bought BG's cuase they are based on forgotten realms world then i was like O_o these games are epic!

  • @hurisija

hehe..one need to be a AD&D players in order to make great forgotten realm game, because they are the one who know what it meant to be in AD&D world, there aren't many AD&D players these days, those are Hack and Slasher who assume they know what is RPG;-)

  • @SubBlaze1

Hey I loved BG and NWN 1 and I only ever played MERP :). I don't think you need to be an AD&D player, its mroe important to be someone who has played any "pen&paper" role pleying game.

  • I just finished BG2 yet another time and I feel so epic !

greates rpg of its kind without question! :)

  • Best game ever EVER ever!

Been a long time since my last playthrough. Time to make a character!

  • Hello I was wondering what is the song from 0:40-1:10? I love it and think its so beautiful! Thank you!

  • @ElegantArtist23 search for "saradush" and it should be the first one.

  • 6:03 ROFL this image always make me laugh, Yoshimos personal secret weapon.

  • Wish I could've killed Drizzt and co

  • i want to go back...

  • Most people in the world wouldn't be cut out to make it in the forgotten realms, thumbs up if your one of the people who would!

  • @PanduProject I would do ALMOST everything for that, killing your mother isn't thing i would do

  • God I hated that god damn red dragon.. I wasn't properly geared.. but the black dragon was easier

  • @akaRavenwolf Lord Jierdan Firkraag. Coolest dragon ever.

  • I love this music and this game more than my own life. Oh how I wish to go to sleep and wake up, discovering that this world has been the real dream and The Forgotten Realm is my true home.

  • rip BG...

Why not make more games like this? :(

    rol is dying..

  • @Lamatsu123 rol is death, long live action rpgs

  • whats the song that starts at 1:13 called?

  • lol i love this game i still haz the cd

  • I love this game so much. I was so sad when my BG1. BG2 and both expacs got nicked.

I've been looking everywhere for a copy of it.

  • @classy12137 you can get them both from gog.com

  • Love this game ive been playing through it over ander over over the last year and i can still play it and have more fun than i get with any other game! :)

  • lol this game is the best

  • why don't they make games like this anymore??? Same thing happened to games that happened to music, we have MORE QUANITITY, but a lot LESS QUALITY :( Baldurs gate was like the beatles, and now we get a bad justin bieber every week GIVE MORE D&D games plox =)

  • @rocksoul89 dude thats not how it works. games make emotions in us, and sometimes, we literally drain all that specific emotion on a certain game, such as BG2. i cant get the same enjoyment and feeling of wonderment out of SKYRIM that i used to get from ICEWIND DALE. now tell me what makes more sense. that the majestic beauty of a 3D fully voiced fully scripted, beautifully composed fully explorable world like skyrim is WORSE THAN IWD(ten years old)??? OR ITS ME THATS CHANGED. Stop complaining.

  • @rogerthat155 This i had to disagree,a more advanced graphic design with3/4D or whatever high tech you support not necessary better than the old 2D style of gaming..Let not talk about it in term of dedication of the game developers, as all good game deserve a good writer and developing team. Just talk about the visual and audio you were arguing about. The overly colourful and manipulation of eyes visual don't make a game better, IT MAKE THE GAME WORSE sometime, as these elements cloud our minds

  • @rogerthat155 ...cloud our mind with TOO MANY STIMULATION that ultimately drain our sense of our enjoyment, you used a certain substance as example of enhancing effect in a game via your post, and the overly visual and audio is one of those substance..as too many stimulated pattern and sound actually drown us in certain BAD game, just like someone continue hack and slash without purpose in some online game. less stimulated graphic make our mind clearer to what we actually playing as we can judge

  • @rogerthat155 ..judge the game we play better in a 2D effect like BG2. The spirit of RPG is about how WE interpret the game in our own image, NOT being induced in a TOO "Realistic" effect that define what the fantasy is in a overly realistic 3/4D engine. Hence it do make sense that an old 2D graphic CAN BE a much better than a modern 3/4 D games that define our sense through mass on screen simulation and stimulation. And that is LOGIC, don't try to discredit others with the LOGIC that you want

  • @rocksoul89 there was the counter opinion, now im going to agree with u. games developers back then were entering new worlds with the open world exploration thing, on screen, so many of the ideas that came out were fresh and inventive, and held the real spirit of the world they tried to create. Nowadays its harder to come up with ideas, and all were doing is essentially remaking the same games for money. But better games DO exist.

  • @rocksoul89 just one more thing dude, trust me on this too, playing OTHER games listening to the music from BG/ BG2 and IWD makes that game 10000x better. lol. Playing Skyrim with a tweaked soundtrack, sometimes playing Easthaven in peace from IWD, and to play BG2s tavern themes in the taverns, makes the game THAT much more soulful. Try playing a shitty immersionless game like WoW with this playing in the background. it WORKS.

  • @rocksoul89 oh and if u want to revitalise that emotion that made shitty old games like Baldurs gate 2 feel incredible and weighty in passion and wonderment, everytime u play a game, smoke weed! thats what it does. playing any videogame stoned is almost like playing it for the first time. it feels like ure inside the world with most games now.

  • @rogerthat155 and don't try to stop others from complaining, as everyone is entitle to their view as long as they have point towards it. and emotion is also not something you can just downplay with your certain manipulated "vision" or "fusion" of gaming.. you are welcome for the continuous debate, though you may have to wait awhile for me to have the leisure of online again, as i love to debate...Let just say some OLD SOUL NEVER CHANGE

  • @rocksoul89 Well, Dragon Age Origins was a masterpiece. Inon Zur did a great job too cause it has got epic music. The Witcher Enhanced Edition is pretty good too, and also the music is excellent.

Nowadays, we have got TES V: Skyrim by Bethesda which is the best action-RPG ever made (but the story and relationship between companions aren't so good as the ones in Baldur's Gate or Dragon Age from Bioware). Fortunately, there are still good games. Baldur's Gate was the best if you played it in time.

  • @JMSLionheart I agree that Dragon age:origin was great, BioWare shouldn't ruin it by coming out with Leliana's song, witch hunt etc.... all those great character background are ruin :( and then Dragon Age 2 which i don't know what else to say :( as for Witcher 2, great ending and should be a great master piece if they didnt add those mouse clicking retarded sequence, whats the point of adding those mouse clicking sequence on a PC game? plus voice acting is a bit of weird

  • @rocksoul89 I don't know what happened to RPGs in general, but last I heard, Atari had a stranglehold on the D&D liscense, and is both refusing to let anyone do anything with it, or do anything with it themselves.

  • @HeavenlyWords the song is the song when u get to the north forest

  • so much memires i played this when i was 6-9 but now i am 11 i dont play it stoped working on my computer 4 sun reson i wonner polay it bad

  • <2

  • BESTAGAME IN EVER.... :(

  • I hope il get to play Baldurs Gate 3 before im dead if not il play it in the afterlife!

  • the 1st game was best, expansion was so lame

  • incredible game and incredible characters.... go for the eyes Boo, go for the eyes... RAAARGHH!

  • Lol I like how during the Thron of Bhaal music there was that scene of party members killing each other haha.

  • guys,at 1:27 when you see the SoA world map, what are the 2 lower places in the forest (the one to the west on the coast and the one next to the mountains bottom east where the shield is) I dont remember seeing these in my games

  • @outlawzqc I just googled the map and the locations are in game, they're: Underdark Exit (the one on the seashore) and Suldanessellar (the one with the fight flag)

  • this is soooooo blooooody epic !!!!

anyone cocking 'bout this game truly does not understand anything about RPG's !

  • I'm just re-playing it for the... i've lost memories of how many time I re-played it... Too great this game...

  • I beat BG2...but now I want to play the expansion. Do I have to start over or can I create a new party and start with ToB? How long is the game on average?

  • @Plissken07 There are plenty of possibilities. You can create a new protagonist and start ToB with a new party, or you can import a game from Shadows of Amn. Or, you can install ToB and then finish your latest SoA game from your last save game - there should be an auto-save from Hell, and you will automatically be transferred to ToB on completion.

ToB is about one fourth or one fifth the length of SoA.

    Good luck! :)

  • @Plissken07 The game takes your last saved game from the second one and all your equipment. Its actually pretty long, I mean not as long as the second one but I loved it because I have played all of them and it finally finished the story. I would say that it took me about 3 months of playing almost every night for an hour. Of course you might move faster than me.Such an epic game though.

  • but the music is so dumb. along with the portait pictures, colors, and charactervoices.

Ice wind dale was so much better in this regard. unfortunately Icewind Dale was intented to be more like a hack and slash so it was doomed to become a fail.

I hope Diablo 3 will prosper.

  • @IMDBmoderator

    Nice joke ! hahaha

  • @IMDBmoderator It's not out yet so how do you know?

  • Awesome series. Keldorn was my faveorite character...and still is. : )

  • what an amazing game. I've played through at least 10 times, with tons of different mods. One of the most immersive and most fun play experiences out of any game.

  • @Bradford621 Nice man, which mods

  • I decided to try out Baldur's Gate 2 a few months ago, and yeah, it was pretty good, but MY GOD, was it confusing! When I first started it I had no-f*ing idea about how the mechanics of the game worked (I still dont understand it fully). I had to keep both the manual and google running while I was playing it.There mere fact that you are supposed to a as low armor as possable, rather then hige, took me a loooooong time to figure out.

  • @Ashadow700 Yeah, it's totally counterintuitive. You'll be happy to know that in Neverwinters Nights and possibly other games that use version 3 of the rules, that made it more intuitive so that higher AC is better.

  • @Ashadow700 Yeah, that's Advanced Dungeons & Dragon's 2nd edition rules. They changed that in the third edition.

  • Well said!

  • is it wierd that i got a boner from the chick in the thumbnail

  • *sighs* i just love how you could choose a portait for you character. wish they had that for NWN 2. just LOOOOVE this music too. i wish somehow i could play it with my character. teehee. i wish that badly. *thumbs up* love it thanks.

  • gives me chills ;) love it and love baldurs gate sad they don't make them like this anymore...

  • I finally made the Baldur's Gate 2 'Main Theme' on piano, check out on my channel!

  • Ah, the memories this brings back. I remember staying up late at night to play Baldurs Gate when i was little. I barely understood English back then (Im Norwegian), but the experience was still epic beyond words. Thanks a thousand times over for uploading this.

  • there can only be one lord of murder !

  • I like baldur's gate 2, It really was a fun game. For some reason I barely remember what happened in the game, besides when you get to the underground with the mind flayers. Lol at the demon lord who appears "HAHAHA MOST AMUSING, THE BHAALSPAWN HAS TRICKED YOU, THESE ARE NOT THE REAL DRAGON EGGS EITHER!". For some reason I always found that to be an epic moment.

The underwater city was pretty cool too.

  • i like that the player named the main character Jaquio. Old Ninja Gaiden reference ;]

  • The BG2 Portrait artwork is masterfully done, who didn't find Imoen & Aerie attractive? And Minsc & Boo are the most underrated and loving sidekicks ever!

The realistic personalities shine through and in that aspect no game will ever come close to making you really feel like they are believable D&D characters, Dragon Age was to sexist and for some reason I stopped playing it after just a day.

  • @TheMarine250789 How was it sexist?

  • Comment removed

  • When party members actually died during combat...

    those were the days...

what a piece of shit dragon age turned out to be....

  • aerie, edwin, minsc, korgan, imoen and me:D

the best game... fuck new games!

  • Oh Aerie, why can't you be for real?!

  • Even though i'm more of a Black Isle fan, i must admit that it is a best Infinity Engine game. And the best of Bioware games so far too.

  • @konoko1984 Perhaps I misunderstand your post, but both Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 are Black Isle? So if you think this is the best of infinity, you are still supporting Black Isle. Most infinity games were Developed by Black Isle and Published by Bioware.

  • @Grigeral BG 1 and 2 developed by Bioware and published by Black Isle actually ^^

  • @konoko1984 You say Tomatoe, I say Potatoe :P.

Still, both companies have amazing series out. But imo, no game series outdoes BG.

  • Baldur's Gate II. Best. Game. EVER.

  • @Fallschirmjager007 yes it is

  • still playing this game today March 25th 2011 I just beat Kangaxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx for my first fucking time in 10 years (back when I was young I was never good enough to kill all liches + get through his demi form

  • @outlawzqc Kangaxx was the toughest mother fucker in the game. Hands down. Time Stop can go to hell.

  • The Characterportraits at 2:30. Which characters are the on in the upper left and down right corner?

  • I love how in the character portraits in BG2 and other old D&D titles are so full of detail like high quality paintings. It stirs the imagination when playing on those venerable retro graphics. Much more effective than today's game graphics

  • @dolgion1 so very true!

  • Game of my childhood.. It`s so much memoirs :)

  • This game in my opinion is the best game I have ever played they put so much detail into the story. And the side quests had a lot of detail too. it would take me like all week just to complete a side quest. But no doubt this is the best game that I have plaed and will ever play in my life.

  • Baldur's Gate 2, a Masterpiece, Best. Game. Ever.

  • ok finaly to write in here, yes Baldurs Gate 2 is the best rpgs. Not just the best it is the first better game that came out at that time i think it was yer 2000 ?? 2002 , whatever. Why is thise game the best RPG game. Cus nobodey didnt manage to make a game that is better then thise one. Iven now today when we have mass of rpgs, mmor rpgs, etc . none of them hasnt created something new and groundbreaking and diferent from baldurs gate. And all thise new games origin frorm thise game or?Zelda ??

  • @HeavenlyWords: Its "End of the Saga" from the Throne of Bhaal OST

  • @HeavenlyWords: Its "End of the Saga" from the Throne of Bhaal OST

  • They should make BG3 lol id buy it!

  • @PieLikes Sorry but i think the whole game company is crashed they shoud do nothing any more :-(

  • Oh my god the romance theme just made me cry ... I think I need to replay the whole series right now

  • Best game I ever played

  • I whistle these themes from time to time.

  • 2:56 - 3:37 is my favorite, a serious deep tune. And kinda scary.

  • @RodaZab pussy.

  • At 2.20 the first pic and the 10th pic i have never seen them before when i played this game.

  • @WhatevaChick2000 The first pic is of Laska, an Elven Bhaalspawn PC from a fanfic site that no longer exists. No idea who the other one is.

  • @RealArcalian Oh gods. Laska laska laska laska laska laska laska

    CLLLLLLEEEEEEAAAAVVVVVAAAAGGGGGGEEEEEE!!!!!

I think the other one was Rose, her love interest in that fic.

  • @Ascyltos Heheh.

  • Yep, I remember Laska Leafwalker, I remember her very well.

Were you a fellow Atticker as well by any chance, cuz there was one called Arcalian at the time?

  • @Ascyltos Yeah, that was me. *ducks thrown tomatoes*

  • @RealArcalian I was TheBeastlordJohnny. I wrote stuff that I've just come back to (I was 17 at the time, so some slack is requested) and apart from a few moments of glory, most of it was pretty alarmingly dire.

  • @Ascyltos But the site is gone, yes?

  • @RealArcalian No, so all the world can see my secret shame.

Which is why I don't use that as a nick on any fora anywhere any more. Some of my stuff is just embarrassingly alarmingly bad.

  • Someone please reply, who is that on the top left of 2:30, is that a character or a portrait of someone in the expantion?

  • @MahajiHaji Nah it's no-one from the real game, probably just a portrait the video maker liked.

  • @MahajiHaji They're custom portraits. Thank Ao that thing isn't in the game. The one on the bottom right though...

  • The best RPG ever made! The storyline and the characters are full of emotions. its pure epic. i miss those times where i was trapped in this game like a actor of a epic movie! if someone would make a movie of this, it would beat "lord of the rings" i think ^^ (sry for my bad english)

  • @PsychoManiac696 True. BG series is the best RPG series ever and much beter than crappy nwn2.

  • i want to live in the world of this game...its just amazing there...love it ^^

  • @theboardlord yeah but think of the numerous dangers you might fall into...

  • that vid just made wanna play it again....

but I know it wont´t be like the first time.. like anything in life..

  • Fallout was shit compare to baldurs gate series

  • @damnhot Ouch! I definitely love Baldur's Gate more but I'm not sure I could go so far as to call Fallout shit. Especially 2 and 3.

  • 2:25 or so is Jaheira's romance theme, correct? God this game has an amazing soundtrack...really just plain intense!

  • @METALGEARSOL1D

lol. No. Just no. Even comparing them is just wrong.

  • @Aelendris Yeah, you are right. I shouldn't compare the greatest RPG ever made with shitty Bladur's Gate.

  • @METALGEARSOL1D your only callin it shit cos you couldent play it lol

  • I need 7 bullets.

  • My favorate game of all time simply takes me to another Damantion of beauty and adventuring with emotion ! It has its own stile without all this japanes shit that the games are filled with today such as HUGE ARMORS and this "black-Looking" and all this shit -No its humble insted and looks like realty with no OVER THINGS its call proportions ! FANTASTIC GAME !!!! LOVE IT !

  • Great video! Definitely best game ever made. Diablo 2 and all that don't come close!

  • No matter what I play, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2, Baldurs Gate remains my all time favorite and it's a game I really love to come back to and play over and over again.

  • BioWare should create another part of Baldur's Gate!

Nothing compares to this great game.

  • i am still fond of my friendship and romance with my followers...they prove to be so faithful following me around and making conversation.... really can't find those friends in real world...

  • 1:50 what's the title?

  • The best RPG, mastery.

  • very nice music, so nostalgic

  • Great music, awesome story, EPIC GAME!!

never before and never again in the history of mankind will a game be developed that is so freaking amazing

words simply can't do it justice

    BG >> sex!

  • If there was only a way to rip these beautiful track right of the CD... Man, would love to hear these amazing classics again on the go. So many fond memories!

  • @FierceBirdOfFlame mate its easy to find the soundtracks to all three games in the series online, just do a torrent search and download them. I agree though, I still get chills when I listen to the end track from TOB. It still feels like the conclusion of a chapter of my life...

  • it's an insult to say Dragon age origin is the successor of such great game!!!

  • @lawcreac im afraid well never expirience enything like this ever again... ;((( Dragonage Origin is crap compaird ..

  • @lawcreac agreed!

  • Smoke salvia D with that songs..... AMAZING!!!!!!

  • Best music of all time

  • Don't ever say 'they don't make 'em like that anymore' in any gaming forum or you'll be flamed by console Borderlands, Mass Effect, Jade Empire and Dragon Age fans who will insist one of these is the best cRPG! So keep it to yourself and just know in your head we are in a dumbed down multiformat market now, and only Europe gives us games that come close anymore (Sacred, Divine Divinity, Spellbound, Gothic, The Witcher, Two Worlds, etc......!!!)

  • This, and Dark Age of Camelot while in it's prime, and I could stay in that moment forever, happy.

  • The music in this game is beyond epic!

  • Best RPG ever made no doubt about it !

  • Best game ever!

  • No doubt in my mind that this THE best game series ever made. Along with Icewind Dale and Planescape Torrent. Neverwinter Nights was alright, NWN2 was shite though and Dragon Age: Origins DOES NOT do this game justice. Spiritual Successor my arse!

  • Woot, NWN2 was epic as hell, just becuase it had a structure similiar to Baldurs gate. if you played NWN2 in 2006 without the patches it must have sucked.

Meeh, NWN1´s orginal campaign had no companions or a worldmap and that sucked

  • And oh, NWN2´s expansion "mask of the betrayer" was a really good continuation on the story just like "Throne of Bhaal" was for BG2. If you gave up on NWN2 cuz of the bugs i suggest you to try it again with all patches. Sure its still glitchy but with "mask of the betrayer" its soo worth it

  • @Ericzeppe I've played thru all of NWN, with the exception of the last expansion pack. It was decent, and I quite enjoyed the first one. MoTB was a bit short though.

  • ok, then you know what you are talking about. A good game raped by bugs n glitches

Too bad, with more patches it could have been the new Baldurs gate.

"Storm of Zehir" expansion is just like "Shadows of undretide", Not very good and not really bad either, just average.

The only good thing about "SOZ" was the elite-style gaming with trading , freeroaming, and the jungle enviroment. So if you are RPG starved its a decent timekiller. "Hordes of the underdark" is still the best nwn--expansion yet

  • @Flicker455 you havent really played NWN until you have finished HOTU. It's like missing TOB. It caps off the story fantastically just like in the BG series.
