  • The fan's of the Grateful dead are truley Amazing

  • dude read the title...gd did a cover of the who

  • '91 i was there

  • I love the harmony they hit, starting @1:53 on the chorus.

  • Well, that's Roger's voice [unless someone is reeelly doing a great impersonation].

  • @MultiPhisher it's vince welnick...NEWB!

  • I don't think this is the Grateful Dead unless Roger Daltrey was sitting in.

My guess is that this is The Who in the post Enthwistle era or maybe The Roger Daltrey Band

  • @thela11 This is the Dead, it is Bruce Hornsby singing.

  • @thegratefulhead

  • @thela11 It's Vince from the Dead....listen to the first chorus, you can clearly hear Jerry there, and on the noodling guitar solo.

  • The Crowd is amazing! Great cover by a great band of a great song of another great band :)

  • when was this?? gotta lova the gd

  • This is the best cover of this song I have heard... next in line is Pearl Jam.

  • Vince talked to me about this , this one is MSG '93 I believe-was there but lost track of date, but it was tremendous-sitting on the 1st rise above Jerry had straight shot at Vince and it was an out of body thing, senses overload. Vince stated that they had jammed it at practice for a couple years but the Boy's werent to hyped on playing live. Hate to say this but Vince was a one man show and the Boy's...well they didnt have his Range at this time.

  • From dicks picks 27? Sweet

  • Dude listen to that crowd right after he starts singing, that's amazing

  • wow great cover not many can perform this song as well as they did

  • Heh.

  • THis is not theDEAD

  • Heard the band play this one many times in the early/mid- nineties. Generally filled the set II penultimate, closer or encore position. Made for a good rollicking ending. This is far from the best version, tho'.

  • shit, are greatful dead, monkeys?

  • "i don"t need to be forgiven"

  • its Baba O'Reily mate not teenage wasteland

  • Cal Expo May of '92 or '93?

  • doesnt sound like the dead at all.

  • Just met a guy who was at the show.

    78 or 79. 2 shows in Alameda.

    Disneyland in the background.

Has a tape of the whole show.

Can't wait. It really is The Who and The Dead.

  • The Grateful Dead octupus does the late grate Keith Moon a good degree of justice on here. My favorite Vince Welnick vocal of all time. RIP brother!!!!!

  • Too bad you don't actually know the real name to the song instead of the shitty little Teenage Wasteland lable people put on it. God, get it right. BABA O RILEY!

  • @Therolando

    Damn Hippies!

  • Grateful Dead kicks ass.

  • DONT! diss the dead

    1000 times better than halen

  • Haha what a stupid comment

  • Comment removed

  • lol, is that Opie from family guy singing that? XDD

  • horrible vocals

  • Why all the negative comments? I think this is a pretty good cover compared to others I've heard.

  • ugh horrible

  • Pete Townshend should be the only one singing Baba O'Riley

  • yeah every1 else can sing teenage wasteland

  • Pete Townshed, only sings part of that song

  • Pete Townshend doesn't sing Baba O Riely. That would be Roger Daltrey.

  • They both sang it. Peter sang the "Don't cry...teenage wastland" part. I saw him do it on TV.

  • you can hardly say they both sang it. Pete did just the bridge, and Daltrey did the rest. But honestly, I perfer Pete singing to Roger's singing.

  • @TWEC21 Pete sings an excerpt, the "don't cry..." part

  • @joebrassmonkey true, but Roger really sang it, It's hard to say they both sang it. I mean, Pete sang 11 words lol.

Though I must say, I do think Pete has a much better voice than Roger

  • @TWEC21 actually they both sing

  • @unclebob53703 eh, pete sings one verse, not sure that really counts as shared singing

  • @TWEC21 ok we're splitting hairs here, what matters is it's a f@cking awesome song! Thanks for taking the time to answer.

  • @unclebob53703 fair 'nuff

  • This is terrible

  • anyone know what show the dead did this at?

  • blakkid15 hits the nail dead on the head!!

  • its called baba o' reily, teenage wasteland is a song by the Who but in a diffrent album

but you can't really blame them

  • no there are two different versions to the same beat, one is teenage wasteland the other baba o'reiley

  • @aznxwarlock or you're an idiot.

  • @tubatalabal or your a fag with no life who needs to get laid. =(

  • @aznxwarlock well bend over then, pussy boy.

  • @tubatalabal of course this queer is on that gay shit. oh well fags will be fags they're addicted to that dick i just pity them. they'll never feel the warmth of a pussy =(

  • @aznxwarlock The last pussy you felt was your mom's. Hey, me too!

  • @tubatalabal lol what is this queer 12 the last pussy you felt was probably your boyfriends fleshlight because you tried getting your sister but she obviously realized your a fuckin loser and said no. By the way i think your boyfriend's gonna replace you especially since he already let you use his new pussy he doesnt need your stank ass puss. =( sorry bitch the truth hurts.

  • @aznxwarlock ... wow, I've taken a shit that made more sense than that. You're out of your league, wimp.

  • @tubatalabal ah the fag can't wait to comment on me sorry i had other things to do, like skullfuck your mother. your entire existence doesn't make sense i still wonder why we made the decision to keep you..

  • @tubatalabal Many more comments like this, and this thread could become personal.

  • @TheSanityInspector this is the dead all day bro...please stop. Your sounding silly. Just look at DeadBase for MSG shows 91 0r 93. Go farther and actually see this available at sites that trade Dead shows. I was at this show-I knew Vince fairly well and talked to him on more than one occasion about the playing of this song etc, etc, etcetera......

  • its called Baba O Riley..not teenage wastland

  • im not sure why they negitived you

  • wow, it sounds a lot like roger daltrey, actually

  • one of the best songs ever from one of the best band ever. great upload!

  • The first chorus, when they all harmonize, is magical. It's so awesome, I just listen to this song just to hear that part.

  • No, its called Baba O'Reily and the only people who call it teenage wasteland are morons who don't give enough of a damn to try and find out if they might be wrong about the title of a song because they couldn't fathom the work and thought put into a song as epic as Baba O'Reily. I bet I'm one of the few who even knows what its about.

  • thanx for the bits of knowlege snr. dick-head, the last thing any form of whoo fan needs is a know it all douche-bag like you. get a life. it's a damn good song thats all you really need to know.

  • isnt baba o'reily the name of the album...

  • The name of this song is Baba O'Riley, from the album Who's Next. There is a song called "Teenage Wasteland" by Pete Townshend, but it's different from this.

  • No, it's Who's Next.

  • no, it's on lifehouse, which became who's next. check pete's website.

  • its called baba o reaily but its been popularized as teenage wasteland

  • Thanks for the upload! And yes, it is called Baba O'Riley.
