  • my fave foo song.

    i'm here.

  • Beautiful! In the documentary Back and Forth Dave called this "a love song to a dying friend" He wrote the song when Taylor was in the hospital. He is so amazing! :)

  • I know that in 40-some-odd years when this band is "old" people will look back on Dave and the Foos the way we look back on bands like the Rolling Stones now. Awesome.

  • Dave Grohl is a lyrical Genious

  • With this, I feel all right with the world

  • One of the most beautiful songs that Dave has written.

  • @fooism69 so true my friend!

  • @fooism69 so true my friend

  • I really love this song, makes me happy Foo fighters..you've did it again :) sorry for my english xD

  • Under the comments for this song you can find TRUE fans of Foo Fighters.. Fucking amazing band, every song is just Woooow :) Amazing :)

  • This one was from Dave for Taylor!

  • chilling

  • This song is perfect to listen to late at night when the world's silent:3

  • Greatest song ever! Period.

  • check my drum version!!

  • I wonder what happened to music like this.. Crappy world..

  • @carlospv94 well I'd still consider this pretty modern and as the foos are still together I'd say we're really lucky that they are the few keeping music like this alive :) amongst the rest of the crap in the world like you say lol

  • i am turning my life around i have had demons that have caused me to change.I am healing over the next week.this song hit me hard.

  • Was it true that he wrote this for Taylor?

  • @TLSLikesyourhair yes he did he says so on the new foo fighters dvd back and forth

  • @spinaboy I literally just watched the movie and I never heard anything about it.. I'll take your word for it, though. =D

  • @TLSLikesyourhair sorry forgot to mention it's on the bonus feature "on the mend" on the dvd.

  • @spinaboy Awh, I watched it on my phone. Guess I'll have to dig a little deeper.. Thanks much!

  • Beautiful Song!!!!

  • There is only one true source of all music, all the rest is borrowed from the original and combined in different ways,.giving the illusion of copyright to certain individuals :)!

  • A little Pink Floyd influence.... cough cough . Love Foo Fighters!

  • Well composed. Reminds me of Dream Theater

  • I Have This Album!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @12BigPopa12 me to !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Such a great song for me right now. So glad my friend shared it with me!

  • [goosebumps] when the guitar solo plays. so very pretty.

  • Im a F/F junkie.

  • This song helped me through rough times in summer '05. I had just moved out on my own, just finished going through university full time & working, so I was physically/mentally exhausted, had lost my job and, & was fresh off my stepfathers death. For a few nights, I stayed up past midnight, stood in my living room with one lamp on, looking at a framed picture of both my stepfather & an eagle on a branch he had painted, & listened to this song. I started to feel better as a few nights passed by.

  • It was simply amazing how the peace and tranquility of the night, the simple beauty of one of my stepfathers' paintings, and this beautiful tune helped me feel better - how it all helped me mend. I absolutely love this song, and I absolutely love Foo Fighters.

  • @GJMSince1981 That's the amazing thing about not Just Foo Fighters music, but so much more underrated music in general. We can create these kinds of experiences that make us reflect on a turning point - we can really relate to these songs and understand. We can't relate to the garbage that we hear all over the radio about Fucking this many girls or throwing this much money.

  • they could have made this song an hour long and i wouldn't stop listeing to it

  • when i listen to this song, i'm always in my happiest place

  • just discovered this song. i really liked it!

  • No hay palabras para explicar esta cosa hermosa llamada cancion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! infinitamente mia!!!!!

  • I love this song. and everything else everything by the Foo Fighters. one of the few bands that actually write all they're music. Those kinds of bands are too few and far between. I have major respect for bands that write all they're own stuff and can actually make it sound good.

  • This song will always remind me of one of the greatest times of my life, and now it's gone. At least I've got the song.

  • This is one of the few songs that just makes me cry. I love it, but it reminds me of the funerals of some amazing people I've needed to attend. This is, undoubtedly, the most depressing and heart-wrenching situation that I think a song can cover.

But it's one that needed to be written. Kudos, Foos.

  • It's been a while since I listened to this album but, everytime I hear this track it surprises me just how much I like it. Like a lot of people already stated; Foo Fighters are pretty underrated if it comes to the quality of their 'softer' tracks. A relatively simple yet beautiful mellow song.

  • I usually only listen to 20th century music, but I there are some 21st century bands, like the Foo Fighters, that carry an awesome tune.

  • the foo fighters have songs to fit my every mood.

everytime they show up when im listening to my shuffle songs i feel this feeling of.. i dont know.. i cant explain it.. almost a homey feeling.. its strange.

    i love them.

  • @argbarb8 Sorta like you feel that you're where you belong?

  • @MitchRulzWorld

    exactly like that :)

  • i have ALL Foo Fighters CD's

o_O somebody that loves them as much as me & wants to be friends?? <33

  • @Fluffiezz All disks, and dvds, compilations, and bunch of other stuff. in reality those disks are shared by my friends and me, coz we bought them with shared money.

  • The acoustic cd on this album completely blows anything the foos have done before or since out of the water

  • July 23rd 2006 i woke from a 7 week coma after some drunken twat mounted the kirb and hit me.This was the song that i woke up to,apparentley i cant remember.Very important song for me this one.

  • @cantwait4payday four-year anniversary coming up, huh?

  • one of my favorite foo songs of all time! i love the acoustic album. :)

  • definatly mate

  • Thanks for doing these, 0foofighter0

  • love this album

  • Im so glad they did this album... and I quote "some loud some not so loud"... I just love this it shows how much of an amazing band they are.

  • Waw, so peaceful..

  • we had a bring your fav song in music history. i brought no way back by Foo fighters and everyone loved it.

  • Gives me goose bumps ,sounds fucking nice.

  • this song kinda sounds like some old janes addiction

  • LOL YOU DUMB FUCKER!!!!!!!!!!Thats Dave Grohl

  • wtf? dave navarro????

  • Foo Fighter !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is the one band that i cant get bored of!

  • thenextbest... I'm totally with you. I keep WAITING to get tired of their music, but every time I listen, I find something else that's like "holy crap" great. Just an AMAZING band - truly amazing.

  • I heard that Dave was suprised about the positive response they got about disc 2 of the album. I have to say that both parts of the album are very good, and I wonder where he got the inspiration :P. GOOD JOB FOO FIGHTERS!

  • 2nd is my fav album besides the epic foo songs on the 1st album

  • utterly...utterly...sublime

  • i am yet to find someone who doesnt like the Foos... they just cant be not liked lol

  • My friend dislikes the Foos. Everyday I try to find a reason but she won't comply. DX

  • No offence to your friend but she must be crazy! lol seriously there must be at least 2 or 3 songs she will like. Usually if people cant come up with a reason then they havent listened properly :D

  • What? Almost everyone I know thinks the Foo Fighters' music sucks. I'm an exception over here.

  • then people u kno whave no taste in music and are dumb cunts :D end of

  • then you must not know to many people. dude get some more friends!

  • well....what to say about it?

it's the music of my last 3 years and i love to play that with guitar, especially in the final part, when there is the mini-assolo that totally gives you onto another planet...just like going over the sea and feel the breeze on your skin...beautiful!

  • yeah, i love this song 2 and especially playin it on my guitar.

so if u like check out my personal instrumental cover of this song

  • damn straight man. the foos are incredible at using music as a gateway for escape. i don't know how they do it, they are genious!

  • Dave has a unmistakable voice

    too good

  • This cd has definately helped me in mending myself.

  • Amen, it's been helping me through Winter.

  • Juss love it..//

  • superbe!

  • I was expecting to like the "loud" cd1 better than the "quiet" cd2, but it turns out I really really really like the cd2 and even listen to that more than cd1! it's some awesome work, especially this song...

  • The beginning is so powerful...

  • This is one of my all time favorites. Hypnotic and powerful, saves me every time.

  • Now id straight up admit that im not a fan of the foo's softer stuff.....but i really like this

  • werent a massive fan of the album but deffo one of the best songs off it :) chills you right out love it :)

  • one of the greastest foo fighters songs ever written.

  • Agreed. I love this song on Guitar. Where is a Rock Band 2 Foo Fighters - In Your Honor FULL ALBUM Track pack!?

    2 DISKS FULL OF AWESOMENESS!

  • Just heard it for the first time...

    LOVE IT.

  • Great Song!!

  • Reminds me of my Girlsfriend<3 we always listen to this song when we're going to sleep<3

  • this song reminds me of...

    first love

  • If a band puts out a song, it's their work whether, you think it sounds too 'Mainstream' or not... please, I hate people who like a bands first album, but refuse to believe any work after that 'betrays' the old album, This sounds like The Foo Fighters to me, damn it.

  • is a song relax

  • one word - "UNREAL"

  • I think of this song lying at an unspoilt beach full of happiness!! TRANQUILLITY!

  • i wonder if this song is about kurt dying?...great song...5/5

  • Wow I can really relate 2 this. Foo Fights is an awsome band.

  • that's ur opinion marktarquinio..

  • just as something that ive observed, anyone can get into foo fighter's famous stuff, like the pretender. Its not hard, but only someone who truly appreciates the Foo Fighters would choose this over one of their mainstream songs.

  • agreed

  • Forget about all this. This is still the mianstream stuff. Listen to the very first album, that's true Foo Fighters, that's what Dave intended the Foo Fighters to sound like seeing as he did everything. Guitars, Drums, Bass and Vocals.

  • This is not the mainstream.. Everlong, Best of you, The pretender is mainstream.. (a lot more btw)

Do you think that anyone would listen to foo fighters if they made the same tracks as they did in the first album.. bands evolve, get better, ... (splits up, gets together again and makes rubbish)..

i think dave does a pretty good job keeping the sound updated, and still FOO..

  • but this just shows that dave can do any type of music and it sounds great. i dont like country that much but if he wrote a country song and played it with the rest of the band i would listen to it. shit i would the album..

  • Intended to sound like? You guys don't really get what being a band is about. It's not about, "Oh, we want this sound. Let's limit ourselves to just this. Every other sound just isn't us." No. It's about the hang-time, the fun, the adventure of the world of music. That's why I love the Foos, Music is about self-expression. Bearing your soul to the world. And it's about never being afraid to produce something like a fucking piano ballad. Dave was finally able to rid that fear of his heart. Great

  • Chilled - perfectly stated. I feel like I just want to grab people and MAKE them listen to this band. I've been in music for almost 30 years. I've been a music fan for much, much longer, and I can't understand why people (more people anyway) don't GET how good this stuff is. This is CLASSIC - all-time stuff.

  • @BBCater hug you. My american loved one from Sarasota is on her way back to US and this OUR special song. Really, I don't know how people don't get how beautiful this melody is, drawing landscape in your mind. Probably they don't know how love is, any kind of love - for music or a special person, or either.

  • @BBCater I’m just going track by track through YouTube. Amazing work. That’s what makes Foo so incredible to me. They can rock like no one’s business, but they don’t sacrifice melody, harmony, and musicality. Even something so “in your face” as “The Pretender” is still musical. That’s awesome, to me. And then he turns out a work like THIS?!?!? It takes an artist, and Grohl certainly is one.

  • @BBCater Well said.

  • @BBCater I think you'll find this band are more than recognised for their contributions to music.

  • pretty much

  • i love this song so mch got me thro alot ov shit

  • it kinda reminds me on kurt ...

    but good song

    thx for uploading =)

  • Got slightly side-tracked and was listening to Fleetwood Mac (trip down memory lane) and Alanis Morisette(most favourite female artist). Left this CD in the car, put it on today always totally blows me away! especially the 2nd C.D.
