  • wow this pretty much kicks the shit out of the album version ENTIRELY

  • I'm so glad I seen NIN before this album came out, while this album is decent and good, it cannot ever amount to The Downward Spiral

  • @LivingWorstNightmare Do you mean the CRC Sessions, or The Fragile

  • @EverDownward

The Fragile period was a disappointing album considering how in your face and pissed off the Downward Spiral was.

I seen the Downward Spiral tour, and believe me, it was alot more pissed off live, I even seen Manson on that tour, it was a few years before his break out, and over all he sounded great that night!

  • @LivingWorstNightmare Not to me, man. You know where I stand :) Sure TDS was industrial joy, but, I just couldn't connect with it. Me, if I really want something industrial, I look to old Ministry and revel in its greatness. Everything from Twitch to The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste was fantastic IMO. I just couldn't quite get passed Psalm 69, and barely noticed Reload.

I would love to go see NIN, unfortunately I haven't had the chance to do anything in a while since I've been in college

I seen NIN years ago with Marilyn Manson when he first came out. Was a bad ass show.

Ministry's Filth Pig had some gems on it, but Dark Side of the Spoon was a big big disappointment. The last few albums they did in recent years were pretty good, just more of a speed metal form of Industrial.

Their 2 live albums were the best they came out with. I wish I still had Spinctour I'd upload it

  • @LivingWorstNightmare I admit I've yet to actually hear anything from Dark Side of the Spoon, so, it should be an interesting experience for me.

And I know what you mean by speed metal in their later stuff. Actually, have you heard their cover of Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World?" It sounds traditional with piano at first and then really does sound like punk when they finally kick it into high gear.

Yeah, they over killed it a way with the guitars. I loved Houses of the Mole, it's one of my favorite records they did, but Rio Grande Blood they did the same thing, just made it faster.

The remix album to Rio Grande is pretty good though

I bought Adios Puta Madres and it was a disappointing record, as they play only songs from the last 3 albums, when they easily could've made a classic live record with some older songs

  • @LivingWorstNightmare I think the fragile was softer and more sublime because Trent had reached a state of apathy in his life (my guess) In The Downward Spiral was so angry because he was using lots of cocaine and breaking down phycially and taking out his anger and frustrations on the world. By the time The Fragile era came around I think Trent had reached a state of twisted tranquility in his life. He was using heroin and his music came out sounding like he'd reached a warped Nirvana
