C64 music really grabbed you by the balls and made you pay attention, youd be patiently waiting for it to load or having a conversation with a friend and suddenly this beautiful and powerful music enters the room, it immediately lifts your mood, no doubt young uns get fed up of hearing this but: while the games of today are technically superior and have surround sound etc, I feel they lack Colour, and great tunes(like this) that gave older games a warmth and soul(or maybe i'm just past it) lol
Having grown up during the C64, Atari and NES era's I'd love to agree with you, however I can't. Our perception of those games is tinted heavily with nostalgia and more importantly with the values we assigned to them as kids. We read more into them than the game itself, we experience our whole childhood when we see and hear them.
This is not a quality of the game itself.
That being said, I love this music and delve deep into nostalgia as I browse old games.
Cannon Fodder was Commodore Amiga. Bound to be avail on here tho, if not, I do remember seeing it on Stu Campbell's website few months ago (one of the devolopers on the game).
I can see it on the bubble-fronted glass of the 11 inch TV... I can smell the tape deck heat... 8)
