As producer, I was an American and an outsider, assisted to a degree by the Singapore Tourist Board. I never took it upon myself to offer an ethnically balanced view, but to record everything we could get onto tape and then go back to our editing room and cut together the most interesting pieces that would inform visitors beyond the standard travelogue. We included all the Malay footage we had. Malays were certainly displaced people upon my visit - I refer to the destruction of Kampongs.
88-89 was the time I lived in Singapore. The population rose from 2.5 to 4 million in 10 year is a crazy policy and PAP paid the price for importing too many foreigners in the recent election.

I find this documentary is more towards the Chinese rather than multiracial Singapore. As a Malay, I feel dissapointed watching this documentary.
