I tried this technique, and at first was frustrated, until I realized my chisel was sharp, but not sharp enough! Its a critical issue, and is the difference between making a mess and having a nice clean cut. This should be emphasized in the video, but regardless thankyou so much for revealing this technique.
I just assembled two hoses using this method this video rocks. so simple three whacks with a hammer, boom job done. thanks for making this video.

-6 is the WORST to get the hose into the socket. Its like that size was designed improperly. Gotta try that cutting technique.

Thanks , this was very helpfull .. now i wont slice my fingers on the cut end or poke myself and i was using a dremel not the chisle ..
