BB&T is a shifty outfit. I went to them,during the boom,I needed a home eq. loan for 15,000 they would only issue me one for 50,000.At this time I had a mortgage for 80,000 and an annual inc. of 21,000. Even I know that does not compute.I used only 13,000 and paid it back and closed the account.They dangle the carrot hoping you will go for it.Protect yourself against these theives.PS the most preditory lending directed toward minorities.Courts are set up to protect the business community.

Did you know that all mortgages in this country are fraudulent? Did you know that if you were to take your mortgage company or bank to court, like I'm doing now,that they cannot prove they gave you a loan and then come to you with offers to settle? A signiture on a promisorry note does not prove a loan. A loan is when you take your assets and put them at risk for someone else. Well thanks to the fed reserve, that never happens. My home was going to auction in 30 days! I trying to get help everywhere. The lender wouldn't work anything out.

I bought an ebook that explains what lenders are doing is fraud and how we can fight legally. I sent two letters from it and within 2 wks they canceled the sale and I still have my home. That was 3 yrs ago!

Any judge that rules in favor of these predatory lenders should be prosecuted to!!! I hope God blesses you richly from this tragic experience.

I showed her the papers saying that the check had been sent out two days before, and what do you know? It just showed up in my checking account, even though it was set up to go to my savings account which they closed because I used the atm card as a debit card, which was my fault. BB&T did the same bullshit to me! I bout a house in Conway S.C. The house was a pile of trash patched up. The roof and the floor fell in. And I had to move a ragged mobile home on the lot to live in, The second year of a 30 year mortgage! BB&T took the side of the lawyer and destroyed my credit! Did you tell people that you took the case to the police almost 4 years after you bought the house and the statute of limitations was running out? I didn't hear it in your video. Did you tell people that the appraiser you hired initially thought the home was a single family residence as well, and actually began the appraisal on the wrong property? I didn't hear that either. BB&T has no open tele line for credit concerns. I sent them a money order for an outstanding overdraft and they did not respond and my calls to texas hq were not returned. Banks are not there for you even if you show good faith to make amends.

dude, not sure if you are talking about the right BB&T, Branch Banking & Trust. They are a south eastern bank. Their HQ isn't in TX, it's in Winston-Salem NC. Here's there number: 1-800-226-5228. Their HQ is 200 West Second Street Winston-Salem, NC 27101. If you want to clear up that overdraft I suggest you go into your local branch, if there is one.

Crap, I was just about to refinance with BB&T tommorrow, I'm not touching that bank now. I just learned about "Bank of America" and know what its like dealing with them myself.

I'm doing my research on banks and I'm not happy about what I'm hearing.

I have excellent credit and was turned down by my own mortgage company for a refinance (after an appraisal showing $60,000 extra equity in my home) I was turned down simpky because "my home was not COMPARABLE to other homes in my neighborhood

The situation you are in is your fault. You didn't do due dilligence on the property value, took out a mortgage you couldn't afford (let me guess - interest only?) and defaulted.

The value of the property was inflated 136% by using fraudulent appraisal.

If you wold like, I can send you a copy of the actual appraisal that was used to close my loan.

Even if in your opinion, I did not do my due dillegence, it does not give anyone the right to break the laws and commit fraud.

I requested an appraisal before purchasing the property, as admitted by te loan officer under oath.

The government appraises your house so they can collect more tax. The bank appraises your house to calculate their risk. You appraise your house so you can get the best value for your money.

There is no master price list for all houses. A house is worth what someone will pay for. You obviously made a serious error in judgement on a) whether you could actually afford the mortgage payments and b) what a good price to pay the house was.

Accept some responsibility.

I'm a 30-year veteran of the mortgage industry and FYI, appraisals are ordered for the benefit of the lender, not the borrower. Unfortunately, we're living in a time where real estate values are declining significantly. So it's not inconceivable that your property declined in value between the purchase date and the date of the refinance application.

Mr. MCfall-the investigator spoke with only one person- Amos Welch- Corporate Security at BB&T Bank, his long time friend.Then he concluded,while the appraiser appears to be incompetant, he won't be able to prove intent. I aked why did you not interview the appraiser,loan officer, closing attorney or Seller?

The Appraiser also provided a written statement stating she did not do the appraisal and does not know why her name appears on the report.

I guess the judge was blind to the fact that although you could have gotten an appraisal on your own (lessons learned), it does not make it right for any reputable establishment to use unethical or illegal practice to secure business deals. I was told that I had to use an appraiser that was on the approved list with BB&T Bank. In this case the thieves are on the inside. The appraisal document provided had someone elses name, not sighed my a licensed appraiser, comps expired, and single family homes used to inflated the value of the duplex. the inflated value was 136% over the actual value.
