and when I say city of the future, I don't mean the steel and cement "feats of engineering" type future, I mean the sustainable, ecological, self sufficient, combining modernity and comfort with technology that is not harmful to the environment, that can be sustained with clean energy type futur. Why didn't they apply their expertise to that type of project instead?
This project is fascinating but I just think that it's a shame that they didn't make this place into an ecological utopia. With all the brilliant engineers that worked on this project and the huge financial resources they could have built a self sufficient, green, ecological paradise city of the future type place. Instead they rushed to build the highest towers of cement and steel in the world. The achievement here is incredible but I wish that they would have made it into a city of the future
The only reason you see awesome things like this in Dubai is because they completely lack a middle class and build all these things practically on slave labor.
