If you look at the Machete trailer for example, Jeff Fahey is awesome because he's putting in work and playing the role earnestly. The effectiveness of those trailers is based on the possibility of them existing during the grindhouse era. This is a parody of a parody, like when someone does an impression of an impression. It's hollow and often meaningless.
