I was in 8th grade when this album was released. Pearl Jam changed my life when I was a kid, and they introduced me to the world of rock. Now I'm 30 and I still love this band. "Delight, delight in our youth!" I can't believe I'm now older than they were when they wrote this song, but I'll always treasure the 1990s!
What bothers me about vs. is that it´s mainly about the pressure of the record companies, but hey, nobody is forcing you into anything so if you don´t like it don´t become a part of it. I don´t give a crap about how it feels to be famous or the struggles of that lifestyle, because thats the way you chose. I think there should be a story and a message besides complaining about consequences of the career you chose and the record labels you signed.

I like this riff, the chorus, the lyrics. It makes sense. Good chorus. How can you attempt fugazi by the way? They're an influence sure, but you don't just decide to try and be fugazi. It's just the way the brain works.
You listen to a band a lot, and it seeps in. The same way fugazi were influnced by the gang of four or the cardiacs.
This song is awesome. To me it represents willpower; meaningful anger. The ascending guitar-notes at 2:00 are fucking amazing. They fit really well, for some reason. I love this song. I bought this CD used, and the whole thing is really good.

This song is awesome. To me it represents willpower; meaningful anger. The ascending guitar-notes at 2:00 are fucking amazing. They fit really well, for some reason. I love this song. I bought this CD used, and the whole thing is really good.

@andybremner123 RHCP will likely never be the same RHCP again since John left. If they do make another album, it will probably have the same lack of soul that One Hot Minute did. All the same, they still top my list as well. Foo Fighters are up there too.
