I always go with Ike, I after he became a level 20 lord in PoR I would have JUST him take on all of those armies.

I love fighting Oliver with Ike (difficult as it is) simply because of the pre-battle dialogue. "I am SO TIRED of listening to your nonsense, you massive gasbag! This ends here and now!"

It's so blunt (and funny), it's almost out-of-character for Ike to say.

Oliver was at the very back of Chapter 19-4. The level where Ike's speed and skill are halved, and the enemies are strong enough (mostly promoted) to kill Ike in only 2 battles.

You must've lucked out with Ike's stat gains.

My first run-through, Ike FINALLY became level 20 in Serenes.

Now, I think it's safe to say playing is much more open, since I use more than just Ike, Soren, Boyd, Lethe, and Oscar.

Jill is actually becoming a favorite of mine :D

I always stick with the good ol' Greil Mercenaries! Pro-tip, to get Shinon back, talk to him with Rolf, then kill him with Ike. It won't be fatal.

It seems to be the only recruitment that the game itself doesn't help you to figure out.

Oh yeah, I had a tough time with that one.

When I got him back, I honestly hated him because he sucked compared to his former Daein colleagues.

Still, I try and balance between all units, or at least get all of them promoted.

Sothe is my one exception, though I might try him out my next run. So many runs, so little time. xD

Try to get Sothe to level 20!! His stats are likely to be phenomenally better in the beginning of the Wii sequel (Radiant Dawn) if you transfer a level 20 Sothe.

If you don't have Radiant Dawn, I'd consider saving up for it. Be warned though, it's fairly hard.

Have you got the completed game on your Gamecube memory card? And did you play through Normal or Hard Mode. If so, you can transfer data onto Radiant Dawn from the get-go.

Lucas and Ness are nothing similar to Fire Emblem mages though, Zelda is.

Their specials might be different, but all their standard attacks would have a similar look. Hell, even Ness and Lucas' standard attacks bear similarity to Zeldas.

I'm assuming you don't know, so I'll tell you. CCD did a series of History on Smash Bros. Melee before he did Brawl, and, in fact, has a Temple Music HBSSBM (History behind SSBM) that details the default track in Melee and the alternate in Melee, a FE tune. Look it up.

There is a remake of the very first game on the DS. Most Fire Emblem games released post- Melee have been localized; and I am aware that there is an english patch for the ROM of Sealed Sword, maybe others. You could probably find most of these at Gamestop or anywhere that buys/sells used games. The ROMs, you'll have to search online for.
