  • sweet shit

  • it look much better if u clean up and polish them domes

  • There is a strobe version of this called the Whelen 8000. That is the very first sealed strobe model.

  • @zangazoo2007

Yes, I've got an 8000 or two here.

  • @Pimpala03 That's cool. First time I saw the strobe version I was about 8 years old. The police cars that were in the city I lived in at the time had all red lights. I remember they looked really weird, but cool too.

  • @zangazoo2007 The Whelen 8000 (strobes) was my first ever lightbar... back in the mid to late 80's. GREAT BAR!

  • Good for you, all you have to do is slap a SKYWARN or "Emergency Communications" sticker on the door and you're good to go.

  • Wasn't there a strobe version of this? I seem to remember one from my childhood on police cars of the late 70s to the very early 80s.

  • This is the ONLY model 80 rotator bar I've seen on YouTube.

The local Sheriff's Dept had a couple of these back around 1980. The blue lenses faded very quickly though and became very opaque, kinda like scotch tape, and during the day you almost couldn't even tell the lights were on!

This one still look good though.

  • Our 1958 International fire truck has one of these, exactly like this! And i like this song.

  • Is it for sale ?

  • i love these lightbars =)

    where did you get it?

  • I bought it from a friend in TX.

  • not bad, but you oughta polish the domes to make it most effective... love the old-school bar.

  • Damn dude, I didn't know anybody still had one of these! Old as fuck, but cool as hell!

  • nothing wrong with old lights but just asking does anyone pullover for you because i know i would not pullover if i saw you coming up behind me lol

  • It isn't mounted.d It was only up there for the video - and some laughs.

  • Good work you stupid fucking whacker

  • I don't think that was really neccesary. I am a vintage lighting collector. It's not like the light is mounted on my vehicle.

  • I don't care what anybody says... I think it looks cool! Reminds me of the old tv show Emergency! Put some wig-wags in that truck and you'll be all set chum!

  • that kinda looks like a Yankee-Dietz bar with the rotators in it..just my 2 cents

  • Love It.... Old School All The Way!

  • thats nice it looks like the old britax we use in the uk

  • christ buy a new light bar

  • Why? I collect vintage lightbars.

  • Firefighter5130:Nothing wrong with the old stuff hell I got a first issue 1948 gumball and it's still as good as new. I say these look better than them there new fang dangled LED bars that are hard to see..Rotators are just better than LEDs hands down.

  • i upgraded my model 80 strobe w/comet flash strobe power supply . this one rocks

  • THE CAMEL, now thats whatcha call old school =p

  • AR State Police had this lightbar in the 80s.

  • Squad 51 housed a California Twinsonic.

  • the twinsonic is nice but i hate that california law where at least one red light has to be facing traffic everytime the lights goes on, to me that made the sonic look retarded

  • Same here, I think warning lights should be some form of flashing. And the anti-symmetry of the california twinsonic bugs me, too.

  • I agree! the Cali TS just flat out looks lopsided..ya just can't beat the TS Model 12 cascades, 12 X cascades, and 12F's (all of which are on our engines in my department

  • That's not the same lightbar, though.

  • Sweet. Pimp, you need to post a response vid in it!

  • Well first I should get it mounted!

  • Ahhh, just use some bailing wire!

  • Who needs gas when you can use your Model 80 sail and be wind propelled to the scene :)

  • ha i love it
