@Pimpala03 That's cool. First time I saw the strobe version I was about 8 years old. The police cars that were in the city I lived in at the time had all red lights. I remember they looked really weird, but cool too.
This is the ONLY model 80 rotator bar I've seen on YouTube.
The local Sheriff's Dept had a couple of these back around 1980. The blue lenses faded very quickly though and became very opaque, kinda like scotch tape, and during the day you almost couldn't even tell the lights were on!
I don't care what anybody says... I think it looks cool! Reminds me of the old tv show Emergency! Put some wig-wags in that truck and you'll be all set chum!

Firefighter5130:Nothing wrong with the old stuff hell I got a first issue 1948 gumball and it's still as good as new. I say these look better than them there new fang dangled LED bars that are hard to see..Rotators are just better than LEDs hands down.
the twinsonic is nice but i hate that california law where at least one red light has to be facing traffic everytime the lights goes on, to me that made the sonic look retarded
I agree! the Cali TS just flat out looks lopsided..ya just can't beat the TS Model 12 cascades, 12 X cascades, and 12F's (all of which are on our engines in my department
sweet shit

@zangazoo2007 The Whelen 8000 (strobes) was my first ever lightbar... back in the mid to late 80's. GREAT BAR!

Good for you, all you have to do is slap a SKYWARN or "Emergency Communications" sticker on the door and you're good to go.

Wasn't there a strobe version of this? I seem to remember one from my childhood on police cars of the late 70s to the very early 80s.

I don't think that was really neccesary. I am a vintage lighting collector. It's not like the light is mounted on my vehicle.

Same here, I think warning lights should be some form of flashing. And the anti-symmetry of the california twinsonic bugs me, too.
