ISPCC I Can't Wait

I was working with the ISPCC when this video came out, and working with parents and children in the Irish community. I listened to the negative & positive feedback from everyone. I must have watched this video hundreds of times and I still well up inside every time I see it. Sadly this isn't based on fiction, this happens day in and day out and a big thumbs up to all those in that boardroom who gave the go ahead for this ad's release!

Certain comments from people who've NEVER been through something like this are amusing. Having been an orphan and a victim of all kinds of abuse myself, I think that because this ad IS so graphic, it must be shown. The fact that people are disturbed by it means it's having the desired effect. There are other ways to support a charity than giving cash I'm sure so why don't you advertise those as well, rather than just asking for money.

This advert deserves to be seen. It is incomprehensible to me that this could be banned for sexism. It doesn't suggest that only men commit physical abuse, either explicitly or implicitly. The only good thing about it being banned is the widespread publicity that has resulted; people all over the world are seeing and talking about this ad - it's all over the child-related Facebook pages, people are talking about it on forums, it's made the news worldwide. Let's hope the message gets through.

I have been fighting the US CPS system all my life as an abused child, and now watching my daughter abused by her mother. The scene depicted in this video was MY life, and from my daughters descriptions is hers. Child Abuse must stop! and if it takes graphic ads like this to get the message across to those who are clueless, and simply just don't care, (because they never where abused) I say BRAVO! and remember STATISTICALLY, it is the MOTHER that is the abuser, a fact the system refuses 2 accept

Can I just say that for the people who are going to be all weak willed about this video and say it's too graphic, you're the ones who can't face reality when it comes down to it. Though some might be disgusted by the graphic nature of this video, it's a real call to arms as the imagery presented to a general audience will not only make them more aware and privy to child abuse, it'll give them the sense that such an act must be attacked and that abuse must be put to an end.

@ItsFlapJack No, but they could've interleaved an aggressive female figure in there, and not only used a female figure as the nurturing voiceover at the end. The commercial as it stands now is basically a male figure hitting a child, and a female nurturing voiceover which makes it almost a propaganda flick.

I'm all for the message, don't get me wrong, still I think it could've been made differently. Now if you want to elaborate on your ending comment I'd like to know why you think I'm stupid.

Shock Factor, amazing Ad, they took that far coz people are still not listening, they needed a good "slap" on the head to wake up to the cause "Protect Children Rights", if it is too painful to watch, imagine how painful it is for the child to be in that situation physically.
