@Silentstorm231 Actually, the movie was in the process of being made, but Bungie and Microsoft pulled it at the last minute because they wanted to finish the first trilogy and Reach, initially Peter Jackson was going to direct, as well all remember, but after the Hollywood politics came into effect he got tired of waiting, so he handed it off to Neill Blomkamp to Direct, but he stayed on as producer, but when it all went to Hell for the Halo movie Jackson and Blomkamp moved on to District 9.

Blomkamp should return to the Halo Series! He's a fresh face to directing, and so he won't be held down by any style veteran filmmakers have fallen in. Judging by District 9, he is pretty good at capturing emotion and drama between characters, which is important to this series.

District 9 was created because Halo 3 was dropped by after Universal and Fox could not agree on how to share the film. It was studio politics that killed the film, really unfortunate.

the film was scrapped in pre-production due to financial squabbles between the two companies who shared the movie rights (viacom and fox I think) Blomkamp was originally the director but after it was scrapped he moved on to do District 9 instead
