FOREVER will LOVE this movie! I "SO" miss the movies that Dudley WOULD have made!! such a LEGEND & a WONDERFUL person!!! Luv Liza as well! they were PERFECT in this movie!!!
yes even as just a normal person looking from the outside to within I have always seen Mr. Moore for what he is and agree with Mrs. Manelli in that he was a great man and agree that we lost a wonderful person!
The Great Dudley Moore was someone i looked too a great deal and could identify with by way of predominantly his overall sence of humour and the many qualities inherant within his personality, deeply missed ~ Neville Bardoli
The Great Dudley Moore was someone i looked up too a great deal and could identify with by way of predominantly his overall sence of humour and the many qualities inherant within his personality, deeply missed ~ Neville Bardoli

I figured it out.. the actors studio guy, is so devoid of a personality, he makes yours shine. I spelled yours wrong, twice.. and instead of going back, and typing it right.. I didn't.. I didn't.
@greasyelvis sorry ... do some research... while I'm not going to say he 100% didn't drink he was never once known as a DRUNK except when lots of Hollyweird Idiots started SAYING he was when they spotted Dudley stammering and slurring but as it turned out it was a rare undiagnosed condition that ended up killing him. Similar to Parkinson's but not really the same.
Close, but not quite. It was a disease called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (yes, I do charity work with them, I could tell you all about this awful disease). Such a horrible way for a man so wonderful to have to go. :(
thank you so much I had spent a lot of years thinking that. I remembered when got fired from that Barbra Streisand film, the media said he was a drunk or something. Then when I heard he died, and it was from wht you just said. That is why I do not listen to the media no more thanks to Michael Jackson and how they did him in. But pleas tell me all about if you can.
Gosh, I remember when that happened too. Babs also assumed he was just drunk, thus why she fired him. (Liza and he had a running joke about her because of this for the remainder of his life.) The media often gets things wrong like this because they know they'll sell more papers if they say he was a drunk rather than the real illness, since not much is known about it, and what could they really write about such a thing?
I didn't see it but someone told me that in an interview he wept because he couldn't play his beloved piano anymore.
In 1989 I wrote Dudley inter alia about his sublime arrangement of the Bacharach and David piece The Look of Love. In 1990 I went to our mailbox to discover a letter from Dudley & went into shock - my brother had to open it - & what a beautiful letter it was - I was always too shy to say thank you - thank you now posthumously my friend.
" lots of guys never married Susan....that guy there never even took her out, let's grab him and beat the shit out of him" I laugh everytime I here that
The material you're refering to was recorded a lot earlier, before he made a name for himself in Hollywood. I'm certain Liza wouldn't have known him then, and in any case, the point she's making is that even though he got ill near the end of his life, and many people in the business assumed he was drunk and forgetting his lines, it was actually because he was seriously ill. I think you're a COCK Andy, and the less people like you post on YouTube the better.
dudely moore was a pianist, a funny guy and a great actor...it makes me sad how he died and that there was not alot of noise about it i didnt see celebrating of his life..i saw him accept an award when he was sick in a wheel chair and it really hurt my heart..my 6 year old daughter loves him to because he did the voices in milo and otis.RIP dudley moore
I am a HUGE fan of Arthur and it's probably one of the best films I have evre seen. Dudley plays one of the funniest drunks and most lovable characters you'd ever see.
There might be major copyright infringement issues if I do. I'm trying not to upset anyone by only posting a few key pieces from it. If I knew of a site that could handle files that big, I'd upload the whole thing for you somewhere, but the three files I have it divided into are *huge*.
The irony that he dies of a disease which made him appear drunk is just incredible.
I miss him and John Candy too...I don't miss anybody but these two I do.

Liza says what she thinks people want to hear, I think. And has weird facial expressions. Unsettling. She's hiding something.
