  • That shit'll whoop your ass.

I watched a simple 150 PSI 3/4 airhose let loose and bullwhip a guy across the stomach and then proceed to dent and beat the hell out of the finish on a car.

  • So that's why our instructors make us cross our legs when stepping over a hose. If he had done that his dick wouldn't be in his stomach

  • Water Hammer's a bitch.

  • and that is why you dont straddle a hose

  • Why post this crap in taco bender lingo and no translation?

  • most of the comments i read are wrong if you could speak spanish you would understand a shard of glass of sharp debris fell when the ladder co. was venting and caused a tear in the hose not to far from the couplink all the pressure caused the tear to get larger causing the hose to explode or what you may want to call it leading to injury

  • I believe that a piece of falling glass fell on the hose and cut it which caused the small leak before it gave out. I remember seeing this somewhere else.

  • that hose wa between his legs!!!! ouch

  • Doesn't any firefighters care about the firefighter that flipped, their all around the second firefighter that did not flip. they check on both firefighters.

  • Don't they use single jacketed hose over there???? also thats why you don't stratle a charged hose line

  • yeah he didnt let go of the hose..you can see the leak first then it goes. That would have hurt, he hit the ground hard

  • Comment removed

  • can clearly see in the slow motion part that the hose behind him exploded and the hose ripped from under him flipping him. He didn't let go.

  • fake .. my ass

  • YOURE FUCKING STUPID

  • umm....not fake

  • That is why you inspect the hose. Nice to see he wasn't hurt badly. Something he'll laugh about later and remember.

  • nice civilians helping out the firefighters!

  • What would be the right/right thing to do? Turn off the pump?

    Honest questions.

  • or the nearst gate or hose clamp it (if its near by)

  • yeah that would be the best thing too do. aidan nsw rfs

  • Just shut down the line, each line has its own valve at the pump.

  • god damned.. its especcialy hits men firemen get hurt like this jezus...but i think they were alright

  • Ouch, thats gotta hurt like hell :( Hope hes ok still.

  • thats y you never stratle a charged line

  • yep...

  • GOTTA CIRCULATE THE WATER AT THE PUMP

  • Looks like the coupling threads were stripped. This wasn't a case of the FF letting go, it was a malfunction. Hope they are okay, but that's why we inspect everything three times.

  • wow shit that crazy.

  • Fuck, just fuck!!! Hope they are allright. Jesus, but still lucky...

  • Next time be sure you have your facts... The coupling stripped the threads, he didnt let it go!

  • He didnt let go it came loose at the coupling

  • Oooh That's gotta hurt! That happened to me once. I'm a fire explorer and once One of the guys in our post, he tripped into me, and I was holing the nosel and it was one. I dropped it and it hit my leg.

    It hurt!

  • I hope those guys are allright with no permanant injuries.

  • So what happened? Did they help the firefighter and forget about the burning building? That sucked for that poor guy though. Doing his job and something wacked like this happens.

  • When a firefighter is down or injured the main focus is now turn towards the firefighter. In this scenario he was okay and need some medic attention but if a firefighter is calling a mayday the main objective is taking care of our own at that point.

  • If the fire was directly above the hoseline that failed, it could have been the result of the plate glass shards cutting the jackets.

Regarless Rule of thumb when you are taking or clearing out windows from upper floors make sure that the area below is void of all personnel and essential equipment.

  • i was told not to straddle the hoseline...or you'll never see your nuts again lol

  • Could Waterhammer burst a coupling like that?

  • From what I've heard, yes.

  • rules in firefighting

1 never let go of your hose.

2never straddle your hose unless you want to lose something .

  • Richard Dog is right. Thats why you NEVER straddle a hose. My dumbass Battalion Chief was standing next to me one day talking shit while at the same time straddling a hose. We were doing pump training so when he yelled "charge the line" I complied and the kink in the hose knocked him on his simple ass. Priceless moment and he knew it was his fault for straddling the hose.

  • fuckin stupid ass

    probably a probationary hahaha

  • don't laugh, cuz shit lke tht could've happened to anybody. Even if you are a firefighter for years shit happens at times.

  • negative ghost rider it wasnt a probie they 2volunteers with 15 years of service combined

  • Wow, I've never seen a coupling burst like that. poor guy

  • wasnt a coupling it was the actual that could not hold the pressure old equipment that back then we couldnt replace

  • you can hear the metal clinking. that has got to be a coupling burst.

  • nope that was the ff scba hitting the floor

  • Please forgive me for asking what may be obvious to most. But what exactly happened here?

  • 2 things could have happend. 1 the coupling that links 2 sections of hose was not properlly connected and 2 the pump opperator put to much pressure on the line

  • and that is why you never stradle a hose....

  • Well good to know. now i know why there's always like 5 ppl holding the hose

  • Get em! lol

  • n also over here in Texas and New Mexico dey use a 5in. hose 4 structure fires

  • as a supply line..that may have been an attack line..although i dont see why they would have an attack line at street level on a highrise fire.

  • in peru we use 2 1/2 inch house as supply line from hydrant to engine or ladder and from engine or ladder to close to he fire and then divert with 1 1/2 inch yeah 1 1/2 not 1 3/4 stand pipes not really and option bak then

  • nah but i was sayin lol da 5 in. hose can kick sum serious ass lol

  • 5 in. hose is da bitch to cause pains in da back takes like 4 or 5 of us to hold dat bitch

  • why is it in non english speaking countries their way of doing things is fucked, for instance you firefighters have said dont straddle the hose (standard procedure), and im sure a medic would say dont surround the casualty, and they were like ants on a sugar bowl. is it cos they dont speak english i wonder

  • Are you a retard? shit happens in everywehere no matter if they speak english, spanish, chinesse or .... I'm a Firefighter in Maryland and this happened in PERU, where I was born, they dont have good equippment down there, but they keep doing their job for free and doing the best they can.

  • where in maryland

  • In PG COUNTY

  • you jackass maybe they dont have the funds to support their department unlike most departments here in the US

  • thats why we dont straddle hose

  • yeah only 300 psi for testing our hoses

  • yeah i'm a big dude and I got knocked on my ass one time from flowing water. the pump operator raise pump pressure and it knock me off my feet, very powerful.

  • take care of your stuff and it will take care of you.

  • How did they get injured i know why the front one did how come the second>

  • i unno if your a firefighter but usually them things are charged under hundreds of thousands of PSI think like this.

let the worlds strongest man hit u with a sludge hammer right in your chest and thats what haveing a hose blow like that feels like.

i had a grass fire hose go on me once cuse i wasnt paying attenction and it had kinked just enough and went off lacurated my leg and back.

when a hose goes like that (like the send dude) it will sometimes rear back how he got hurt.

  • Well yes it can knock you on your ass but there is only about 80-150 PSI in a charged hoseline.

  • not always but when u think about it 150psi is still enough to crack bruise or break a rib, and if it dont do that it STILL hurts like a SOB...

the one we got here is rated at 175psi max, im a jr vol so i dun do house fires often unless someone isnt there or shows up.

  • hundreds of thousands of psi is LIL exaggerated!

  • So, is there still a crew inside? Have they just lost their water?

  • No, well hopefully more than one line was stretched, but it is a BAD situation!

  • could have easily been a lodd...hoses are nothing to mess with

  • Good heads up on the engineers part for getting it shut down fast, it was almost instant. Although proper hose testing would have likely prevented this accident.

  • looks like the cuppling broke

  • was it his fault or did the cuppling break?

  • nope not his fault, it looks like the hose had already had a leak and it just had to much pressure on it and it just went, you can see from the vid before he even picked it up that it was leaking.

  • what country is this?...its kinda weird to see random people coming to help out the injured FF...nice of them....but we have the policy that if a ff is down...he becomes priority. life before property...so wheres the rest of the crew...i think i would have crawled around back where no one could see me....i'd be too embarrassed...

  • They are from Peru...

  • hahaha shiiiittt

  • Get up Sergeant ! Walk the pain away ! What are you, Maggot !!! LoL, that's horrible. It sure knock the air out of him.

  • its the little things ,that kill

  • unfortunately our equipment doesnt have as much testing as the ones ur stations i man we are 200 year volunteer fire deparment we use trucks that would be at museums for u guys

  • In wich company are you?

  • i was at italia 5 in callao peru between 2004 and 2006 and now ive been with broward fire rescue in fort lauderdale since 2007 to the present

  • Que bueno que ahora estes por los Estados, yo vivo en Maryland y estoy en PGFD.

  • Never Stradle the hose line....EVER! Dang hope that guy is all right.

  • why did he stratle the line like that?

  • he didn't let go. it burst..

  • Firefighter Hose Lets Go During Call. It doesnt say he lets go, the hose lets go....ie. it bursts.

  • This FF didn't let go of the hose, the hose burst. It happens even on pressure tested hose.

  • that is why we hose test. gees people for those of you who are on the job you know what i mean.

  • hell yea i know what u mean but something tells me the connections wore broken OR detached

  • i didnt find that funny. they risk their lives for us

  • I agree, That happened to me inside a fire knocked me and my buddy firefighter to the floor to much water pressure.

  • Are you a firefighter? I guess you're not.

You should not make fun of a serious accident.

  • good one, genius

  • my bad. i was talking to someone else and i guess i put it in the wrong comment reply box. i have no direspect to firefighters so i didnt do this on purpose

  • one of my friends almost got his leg torn of the other day because that happened. he was gonna transfer out of his station into another city and just because of that they wont let him now. plus he almost died. you got some serious disrespect your f***ing idiot

  • this is why you test your firehose every year...

  • Now that is power!

  • it looks like he was coupling the hose and someone turned on the water, or kicked the hose clamp or something

  • that can be prevented, too much pressure for one man... not funny!!!

  • god damn thats gotta hurt

  • that has to suck...

  • observe the slow-mo. the hose burst, it's not the coupling...

  • Good job on the engine ops, gettin the line shut down quick!

  • Thats gotta hurt!! i know from experince!!! and in the nuts..... you know he was icein them for a week!!

  • oh dear... he would go away from danger zone. this is a normal reaction...

don't know another word than fuck? so gratulation! you just won the FYFFA: FUCK YOU FUCKING FUCK AWARD...

  • that tells us a lot about your unhappy childhood ;:)

  • If you are a firefighter you are an asshole.

By they way: This happend in Lima - Peru, I guess your poorly educated brain doesn't knows that Mexico is not the only country on the world that speaks spanish (from Spain, the country) Do you know that you speak english because England??? or you think that the USA teached english language to the UK?

  • i wanna hear you say that when you garage burns and firefighters save the rest of your house.

wat do u have against firefighters?

  • I would like to see you say that to the 343 firefighters who sacrificed their lives trying to save people from the sept 11 attacks. I know that they would sacrifice for you... You're selfish and very uneducated.

  • YOU FUCKING IDIOT! they're not mexican , and if you can ask them for save your ass from the fire. They gonna save you , 'cause is their hobbie o NOBLE HOBBIE... YOU FUCKING RETARD GET A LIFE BITCH!

  • ouch... i've been shaved by a hose & coupling (Grazed my face) the connecting coupling let go, that was scary enough, but to be poleaxed in the nuts is just wrong. hope they are both ok now.

  • thats the first that i saw somebody not tighten the hose tight enough

  • I bet his nuggets took a direct hit. lol

  • Yes I agree it let go. Had a 2 1/2 " get away once and that was a bad day.

  • looked more like the coupling failed rather than the line burst

  • he didnt let it go... it burst open

  • Yeah, you'll have that on those big jobs

  • There was to much water pressure in that line, the equipment failed.

  • You sir are an idiot. This could happen anywhere, at any time, sometimes equipment fails. The guy did nothing wrong except for straddling the line like that.

  • I forgot what country this happened in, but somewhere in central or south america where they cant effectively upkeep all their equipment due to financial reasons.

  • It happened in PERU.Actually they are 100% volunteer and the F@#$KING goberment don't wanna help them

  • Great to see all the spectators came to help the firefighters.

They save our lifes, least we can do is help them when needed back.

  • We're all brothers you dumbass! That 343 in your Youtube is a shame! You don't deserve it if you're gonna make comments like that! I lost 343 brothers one of whom was my cousin, you P.O.S.! Mes with one, you mess with us all! Come to Detroit and I'll put your punk ass in it's rightful place!

  • DING!!!! Rang that guys bell pretty good! Hope he's okay.

  • He's lucky he's still alive. Getting hit with a nozzle like that could EASILY kill ya.

  • Hey it happens...unfortunatly

  • Bad equipment, leads to bad day.
