You are not able to see life process n SEM or TEM. It is definitely light microscope, maybe polarisation difference.

Yes - You are able to see chromosomes through light microscope, it is very easy in case of organism with large chromosomes as onion e.g. In case of human it is also possible. It is even possible to see NOIR and centromeres but after special treatment
