Powerhouse! I've been training mma for a year now. Do you think that you shouldn't get so much air when you punch? My opinion (inexpierienced compared to you) is that you can get tonnes of power really fast with a SM punch. Maybe you're taking too long when you could be half a second faster? Reply appreciated :)
I think your pushing off on the wrong leg. via i train mma and you should push off on the right leg and come in with the left jab. So all the power is transended in one motion and most effective. ask st. pierre or watch him. But your way Is just different and seems more frustrating when your in a fight.
It really doesn't matter which leg you push off with, so long as you sell the knee and come over with the punch. What St. Pierre does is actually a superman jab, but traditionally it is done as you see here in this video.
It is stronger because, all of your body weight is in the air and in motion towards your target . When your punch lands it has the momentum of your whole body.
Great tutorial. Usually though I don't get 'em to follow the knee. I hit 'em with enough leg kicks so that I can get 'em to bite off of a feint. When I see the flinch off the faint usually I'll throw another one or two leg kicks, feint the kick and jump forward like the guy in the vid says to, except usually I don't throw my knee out like that, maybe I should though it seems like you get more power from the punch. Anyway 5*
I have been using this punck alot in sparring lately and must say... very effective. Never really got it done in a fight though. Tip : if it doesn t connct the way you wanted it follow it with a left hook end a right lowkick. 7 times on 10 tries you get 2 outta 3 connected
um yeah ....plenty of pros throw the superman punch and it's very effective, if done right can knock your opponent out, as far as a jab being a knockout punch.. you obviously don't have much fight expearience
You got me man... But so you know, I spar every week, back in Russia fought a lot of underground fights when MA was illegal, and a lot of street fights. But in your eyes that might not considered much of fight experience.
sorry if my comment sounded like i wasn't agreeing with you, I was actually commenting on someone else who said that the Superman punch was worthless, I'm actually backing your position, don't doubt you at all man, keep up the good work
Try the Superman Punch and i can guarantee you that eaven a deasent fighter will ko you with a left jab!!! No great fighter has ever thrown a Superman Punch =it sucks! Just looks so fancy to all beginners!!!
This works all the time if you set up inside leg kicks. You fake an inside leg kick; your momentum is already moving forward and you can land a really hard flying punch.
ithink the better technique of thiss is when yu dont jump my opinion better leverage

Look I'm no expert but Im preaty sure that your not supposed to leap in the air like that,
Your just want to quickly and lowly move it forward, because If I saw someone leaping at me like that I would kind of predict what thier trying to do.
Ps I'm not trying to piss you off, like I said I'm no expert

I just showed the mechanics. Of course you need to do it faster and also if you do it at a closer distance.

Wow, you must have a very powerful jab, but you need to do more research on that.
It works very well, if you have right timing it is a KO, and I don't think your jab is going to help much.

Exfellent vid, i'm going to practice this and then try it out in the ring. I like how he shows how to set the person up for it.
