Im not christian, but i am very familiar with its history. Protestants(the only "real" christians if u wanna be 100 percent honest", marched into catholic churches in the 1600's in england burned them down. they destroyed the depictions of jesus, not as disrespect to god but because they felt the pagan catholics were worshipping an idol image
