Usually, even the Allied Newsreels would contain a moderate sense of propaganda. (Of course, they didn't tell outright lies like what the German Newsreels did.)

The sad thing, though, was that this newsreel needed no spin-doctoring whatsoever. The holocaust by itself had done all the nessicary work that is normally done by propaganda. All the filmmakers needed to do was to tell the truth.

If I were to say that there wasn't discrimination against those two, I would be lying. Most notably, the Japanese on the West Coast were sent to Internment Camps. These were stark places that served as grim hybrids between a summer camp and a detention facility.

However, the accomodations, while stark and bleak (my grandmother was in Tule Lake, and each family was given a small room with a few lightbulbs and furniture.) it was nothing compared to the Holocaust.

Also, I am aware of the looting of Japanese goods. However, the Nazis looted far more, and also killed far more. To compare the internment camps to the holocaust is misguided. Both were great wrongs, but one was exponentially worse than the other.

The article starts with the first sentence. "Dachau was never an extermination camp for Jews, but from the very beginning, Jews were killed there." You should lean the difference. Jews were not sent there to be exterminated although clearly some, like non-jews, died there. Most survived.

I can hardly believe my grandfather was in that horror somewhere. He was put to work in a labour camp in Germany. He never wanted to talk about it but he did tell us there was a POW camp with Russian soldiers next to the labour camp. He told us how horribly they were treated.
