The Live-Performances from that time are incredible.

I think the reason, why their Live-sound isn't that perfect anymore, is this:

Tim's voice is awesome, but he uses so much force that it is damaged early. In Germany they first played Collapse and it was nearly perfect. The 2nd one was State of the Union and I think everyone can think of why State of the Union damages your voice if you put too much power into your scream.

From that song on his voice became weaker with every minute.however,RISE!

But this one is awesome, its sound as good as the cd-version. you always have to keep in mind that what you hear on the cd is the perfect version.

Cathy, this is one of their wildest performances. Not during this song, but in many of the other songs at this performance you can see people running on the stage and jumping on the crowd constantly. In Give It All (same performance, Live at the Troubadour) Tim even crowdsurfs himself while singing.

It would make a little bit of a difference because your voice would be muffled in your ears meaning that you'd have to have a better judgement of where to sing on a scale even though what you hear is rather muffled and fuzzy sounding, so to speak.
