Marriage is NOT A RIGHT. If it was, DOMA could have been easily over turned. Just point to the right to marriage. But marriage is NOT a right, ie polygamy is illegal, as is underage marriage.

It's funny that the gay community wants everyone to be so accepting of them while they are quite possibly the most "UNaccepting" people in the world. The majority of them truly HATE anyone who disagrees with them.

Hey, I'm not for or against anything. I am just saying that this video is hateful and is based off of a woman responding quickly to a question in front of millions of people. Just let her have an opinion.
I fully allow her to have an "opinion" (I don't understand why she should have so strong an opinion on something which does not affect her at all), but she has moved beyond personal opinion to campaigning against gay marriage. She is now a spokesperson for the so-called National Organization for Marriage.

Think of it this way: The way we cook food changes to make it healthier for us to eat while homosexuality cannot change for the better...Homosexuality is the same now as is was back then then the only thing that can change is the way some people view it as right or wrong. Offense taken actually. As it happens, homosexuality has changed since then. At the time the bible was written, the majority of homosexual relationships were between adolescent boys and adult men. (Pederasty), relationships that were, on the whole, unequal and probably immoral. Aside from anything else, there is no rational or logical reason that homosexuality is immoral, only religious reasons. And in a theocracy (like the usa), the values of a religion should not be imposed on the state.

Throughout the whole United States, straight people have the right to marry the person they love. Ah, OK. How about the right to file a joint federal tax return? Gay couples are not allowed to do that, even if they are legally married by one of the five states or DC. I'm saying that gay or not, all adult USA citizens can marry a consenting adult USA citizen of the opposite sex. So of course things aren't granted to gay couples because they're not legal marriages in any sense. But gays have the same rights as straight people do is what I'm saying. The argument is that gays want the marriage laws to be more free, because regardless of whether they want to marry someone of the opposite sex or not, they do have that choice.
Your argument is akin to saying that everyone has the right to marry whomever they choose, provided they're the same race. That way everyone still has the right to marry, right? It's not simply about the right to marry; it's about the right to marry the person you love. It's very convenient to say that gay people already have the right to marry (caveat: opposite sex!) but who'd want to be in a loveless marriage? Would you?
I'm saying that marriage laws are not based on love, so I don't think using "they should be able to marry the person they love" is a good argument. The basis for marriage and attempting to change laws about marriage should be based on something more tangible. Unless people want to start dealing with polygamy and child marriage as well - because if we change marriage laws just on account of love, then you can't really stop it anywhere.

Marriage law may not be about love, but they are partly about choice. Prior to Loving v. Virginia 1967, interracial marriage was illegal in Virginia. Everyone had the option to marry someone of their own race (the point you pose uses the same logic), but to say that was satisfactory was to deny part of the population their rights.
Perhaps the child marriage, which I can agree is digressing. But polygamy is not digressing so long as it is been adults.
The difference in the interracial law is that people were still trying to marry others of opposite sex, whereas now it is a fight to try and make marriage legal for two people of the same sex.
I'll say it again, no part of the population is being denied any of "their rights" by not legalizing gay marriage.

Despite the questionable methods the anti-gay marriage groups used to garner votes to pass prop 8, and the underhanded source of funding they received from the morman church, prop 8 only passed by 4 percentage points. For all of those out there that think a 52-48 win is a landslide and that "the people have spoken", maybe you should look at the difference in those numbers again - 4 points. Trends point toward the acceptance of gay marriage - we will have marriage equality!

Not true, we are a Constitutional Democracy not a Direct Democracy like Switzerland, where everything is put to a vote. The US Supreme Court DOES have the power and does have the final word. If they rule SSM is a civil right, one decision will strike down all bans on SSM and every state will recoginize it. Interracial marriage ban was struck down by them, at a time where over 60% of the people were against blacks and whites from marrying eachother. The people didn't decide, the court did.

You missed the point, no one's votes will ultimately matter. Civil Rights are not subject to majority vote at the federal level. When the US Supreme Court gets the case of marriage equality they will rule in favor of it under the Equal Protection Clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the US. Obama supported marriage, but had 2 change that in order to win but he does oppose a ban on it, that says it all! BTW I can marry in any state, I just believe in equality for all Americans.

It's quite obvious there is a lack of understanding of the Bible here. The OLD testament died with Jesus on the cross, as explained in NEW testament. Timothy 2:9, 10 refers to dressing simply and not OVERDOING it. It doesn't say you can't wear jewelry. Head covering includes hair.
Marriage is NOT A RIGHT. If it was, DOMA could have been easily over turned. Just point to the right to marriage. But marriage is NOT a right, ie polygamy is illegal, as is underage marriage.

Offense taken actually. As it happens, homosexuality has changed since then. At the time the bible was written, the majority of homosexual relationships were between adolescent boys and adult men. (Pederasty), relationships that were, on the whole, unequal and probably immoral. Aside from anything else, there is no rational or logical reason that homosexuality is immoral, only religious reasons. And in a theocracy (like the usa), the values of a religion should not be imposed on the state.

I'm saying that gay or not, all adult USA citizens can marry a consenting adult USA citizen of the opposite sex. So of course things aren't granted to gay couples because they're not legal marriages in any sense. But gays have the same rights as straight people do is what I'm saying. The argument is that gays want the marriage laws to be more free, because regardless of whether they want to marry someone of the opposite sex or not, they do have that choice.

The basis for marriage and attempting to change laws about marriage should be based on something more tangible. Marriage law may not be about love, but they are partly about choice. Prior to Loving v. Virginia 1967, interracial marriage was illegal in Virginia. Everyone had the option to marry someone of their own race (the point you pose uses the same logic), but to say that was satisfactory was to deny part of the population their rights.

The difference in the interracial law is that people were still trying to marry others of opposite sex, whereas now it is a fight to try and make marriage legal for two people of the same sex.
I'll say it again, no part of the population is being denied any of "their rights" by not legalizing gay marriage.

I have hope! Despite the questionable methods the anti-gay marriage groups used to garner votes to pass prop 8, and the underhanded source of funding they received from the morman church, prop 8 only passed by 4 percentage points. For all of those out there that think a 52-48 win is a landslide and that "the people have spoken", maybe you should look at the difference in those numbers again - 4 points. Trends point toward the acceptance of gay marriage - we will have marriage equality!

When you say she's not ugly are you speaking of the actor/ess or the actual contestant? because miss CA is obviously drop dead and looks nothing like a tranny, unless you ask someone spitefull who hates her for what she said, but this actor/ess person is not a good representation of a beautiful woman. A beautiful tranny? maybe. It just makes no comical sense, If you know comedy trannies and men always play ugly women, to emphasize the target's unattractiveness.

u didnt get the sketch at all if u say "this actor/ ess person is not a representation of a beautiful woman" , because its not what its about. its a sketch that is accusing her to be manipulative and phony and to have a secret agenda. now it is not my opinion but its just what the sketch conveys...
and the fact that they used a tranny means that they want to mock her face features which are really strong ( and beautiful).

and in doing so here, it just distracts you,because viewers are like "I don't get it, Miss CA doesn't have big arms, snake hips, and a big nose" plus her behavior is totally off, the tranny acts more like Naomi Campbell. it would make better comedic sense to represent miss CA as over sweet and bubbly. What specific displays of overly rude behavior did we ever see by miss CA that would make a script writer think to make her out to be an emotional doppleganger of, again, a Naomi Campbell?

Its just usually in comedy when someone is portrayed as "manipulative and phony" the real person is always over the top in those categories. Miss CA just simply hasn't displayed the behaviors that would justify "manipulative and phony" comedic mocking, unless you ask Hilton.lol I give 2 rat turds for Miss CA, but I won't lie, I haven't seen the behavior that corroborates this sketch.Seems people will laugh though if they desperate for a reason to mock her. So its good for those people.

Not true, we are a Constitutional Democracy not a Direct Democracy like Switzerland, where everything is put to a vote. The US Supreme Court DOES have the power and does have the final word. If they rule SSM is a civil right, one decision will strike down all bans on SSM and every state will recoginize it. Interracial marriage ban was struck down by them, at a time where over 60% of the people were against blacks and whites from marrying eachother. The people didn't decide, the court did.

Um, I'm pretty sure that's EXACTLY what she was doing. And this is not in reference to her remarks at the pageant. While poorly worded and distasteful, she is entitled to her opinion.
But she can't accept thousands of dollars from a group like NOM to do a commercial and not expect this onslaught of negative response. Stating your opinion is one thing. Being a paid spokesperson for a group perpetuating hatred and fear is another.

You missed the point, no one's votes will ultimately matter. Civil Rights are not subject to majority vote at the federal level. When the US Supreme Court gets the case of marriage equality they will rule in favor of it under the Equal Protection Clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the US. Obama supported marriage, but had 2 change that in order to win but he does oppose a ban on it, that says it all! BTW I can marry in any state, I just believe in equality for all Americans.

Well you miss my point. It's all about redefining marriage, not about equality. I can't marry my bother, sister, father, two women. There's a definition of marriage whether you like it or not. If the courts do redefine marriage so be it. I really don't care that much. What bothers me is the intolerance of militant Gay groups, leftist groups etc etc.. I never denigrated her. Obama promises to repeal DoMA that's a huge step in the right direction and is vehemently against bans on SSM, again that says it all. Of course you can't marry them, that's incest and not allowed. Marriage has been redefined before, 60 years ago; husbands owned their wives and they still do in some countries.
