  • Saw Hawkwind for the first time in 1973 and i have been a true follower ever since, seen some memorable gigs , and some lineups , done more gear at Hawkwind gigs than any other band, Never forget first seeing Tim Blake play" New Jerusalem " in southampton's mayflower , Man that was fuckin trippy , with the first lasers i had ever seen, that and the LSD helped lol

  • this is fuckin superb... i just love this track

  • Great vocals by Brock but really nice to see a video that concentrates on Jerry Richards and Ron Tree for a change - also great light show captured really well. Nice one!

  • @janethesnail What's up with the disco ball?

  • great video mate

  • @ eddiebusgetti I think he means that Hawkwind are the warriors on the edge of time as opposed to being the song title.

  • Hawkwind are in a league of there own, nothing and no one sounds as good as these guys ..period

  • lsd free greek doping hooligans

  • love hawkwind, and they re excellent live and i fuckin love this track, i hope neighbours like it,,, ive cranked the vol to max, bollox to them anyway

  • ALWAYS AND FOREVER HAWKWIND!!!!!!!!

  • About 1981 was when Hawkwinds music , myself, and LSD.collided.OOpps!

  • The mid 70's were the best time for Hawkwind especially this album and Hall Of The Mountain Grill. Saw them in 1981 at Oxford, really great live.

  • HAWKWIND and EARTH CULTURE where the best new age band of their time without a doubt.

  • Great version..

  • the guy with the camera should have been at the other side of the stage. Great gig man! The Capt. is giving it some!!!!

  • when was the last time you saw em? checkout hawkwind live 2010 on youtbe search, they're on great form! And you can hear Dave Brock singing on this video!!!

  • wow wow wow love em xxrudy

  • Superb, this band are top draw,a proper band not the usual mainstream shite

  • I was there! Smoking hash with the band!

  • In tribute to These Monsters.

  • Cannot get enough of the Hawks no matter what rendition of the band are the players. Saw them 3 times in Toronto in the seventies. How fucking lucky was that!?

  • You are lucky. . . they appeared at Berkeley Campus (in 1992 I believe) and I lived close to UC Berkeley. Unfortunately back then I still didn't know about them so I missed an opportunity to see them.

  • love them or hate them? there is only one hawkwind!!! fucking awsome, no one else like them. oh by the way it is assault & battery / the golen void off the album warriors on the edge of time

  • what a band ... my fav ever...fantastic live ..great albums...seen em so many times..n they still keep going..go on dave ya the best...

  • not like the old days but not a bad effort

  • Yes, this is superb. Obviously the song is Assault and Battery/Golden Void, Warrior At The Edge of Time is just the talking bit at the start. But really Hawkwind are Warriors at the Edge of Time, and I believe that they can actually travel through time and space. How else could they come up with such wicked tunes?

  • @MrToby180 U are correct.

  • @kev18ize ty sir!

  • get the acid out my fairy friends

  • Such a great album....spent many hours listening to this. Thanks for the reminder!

  • hats off to Dave Brock hawkwind is the one man spiritual cosmic out there

  • genialny utwór, zawsze powalał mnie na ziemię

brilliant track, always bring me to the ground

  • Ronnie Tree! LOL He's a mate of mine - lives in Frome, Zummerzet.

Been wasted with him oh so many times... =]

  • Look into your minds eye & see what you can see!

  • Do you really think this isn't hawkwind or are you just sayin it ain't hawkwind without lemmy or nik or stacia, or dikmik or simon king or huw lloyd or whoever? It IS Hawkwind.. I was there.. Helped set up the stage. It's brock, tree, chadwick, and richards. If yer of the latter crew.. then you really just like certain hw albums or performances, yes? The only thing about HW that never changed is that they have never stopped changing.

  • I mean this is tremendously exciting :)

  • Это охуенно

  • i dont think this is hawkwind but its still good

  • That aint Hawkwind

  • Looks like a henge gig

  • i still buy vinyl

  • my fav hawkwind song ..

  • Space Ritual, Hall Of The Mountain Grill and Warrior On The Edge Of Time, brillant!

  • Don't forget Levitation ........... GinGer De BaKer on drums ....

  • i was 13 (1975 i think) when i saw Hawkwind in Barnstaple i remember naked women on stage all painted green and lots of lights - wish i could remember who i went with - a brother & sister?!

must have made a hellavu impression - i've watched all these videos this morning and am singing along without thinking about it!!!

    Great showmen!

  • check out plague of dead haddock on my space

  • More Hawkwind than Hawkwind !

  • Any band that kickstarted the career of Lemmy Kilmister gets a 10 out of 10 in my book!

  • I've been a Hawkwind fan since 1972 but I must admit I lost interest for about 4 yrs until the palace springs album came out, I never buy cd's now. I get the music elsewhere !

  • When i become dictator of Greece .....

There will be free kebabs for non whoopers.

    Up the Macedonians I say : )

  • Humour aside, that looks like it was a cracking gig.

  • When I become President of America, whooping will be outlawed. Whoopers will be processed into kebabs.

  • When i become dictator of Greece i will offer political asylum to the outlawed whoopers of America.

  • I just love this record and the skivfodralet....envelope,,,sort of......its cool ;)

  • wicked tune ,takes me bak ti the good old days when we had proper music and proper drugs

  • Look harder son.

  • Harvey Bainbridge. Original member. Not. he even joined after they changed there to Hawklords. in 78. 1st time i saw him play with them was in 79

  • Harvey Bainbridge, original as in joiining 10 years into the band's career?

  • Superb! History in the making. Youtube at it's best.

  • takes me back to my youth, harvey baibridge is a good friend of mine, one of the original members of hawkwind.was one of my hero s,now he lives near me,up north.

  • original member having a laugh

  • best band ever!!

  • 34 years ago....How quick we are getting old!!

Nick, hear to this, a dose of youth.

  • Twenty years on from when I first heard this and it still does it for me!

  • This is still the best band ever!!

  • This is a video of Assault and Battery / Golden Void....not Warrior on the Edge of Time!!!! please........

  • If you read the description that is what it says.

  • Gotta love the US fans! "WHOOOOOOO!" "WHOOOOOOO!" Said the fat man in the black t-shirt...

  • Where`s all the good acid gone, got to wait till october when the shrooms are out. Stinks man.

  • JUST FUZZ an awesome new indie rock band is playing with Hawkwind on 7 June at the Wye Festival Hereford - a festival NOT to be missed!!!!

  • Thank you ZAXMANIA, I missed this song for a long long time. It brings back great memories.

Hail Hawkwind and the warriors at the edge of time!

Where can I get a CD of the album?

    ZeekSpeedFreek

  • I think you got the wrong date. I think it's actually from 97. Hawkwind toured the US in 95 (not 94), but at the time Alan Davey played bass. By the time of the 97 US trip, Alan had left the band and Ron Tree had taken over the bass duties, and they had added the second guitarist (Jerry Richards, I think is his name?).

  • You are right!!

    This is 1997

  • I don't know why I put 94 in the description. I checked my original tape and it was on August 24, 1997.

  • Hawkwind forever. They are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lot of drugs being consumed at a Hawkwind show. Hard drugs.

  • Genesis is/was good but no better than the likes of Gentle Giant and E.L.P. And if you broaden it out of Prog Rock, they have to contend with The Beatles, and really, literally if their was no Beatles there would be no Genesis, remember Phil Collins was at a certain theatre, at a certain time, when a aforementioned band was making their N America debut. Phil said himself that it was that experience that drove him to be a musician

  • I have seen this band 56 times and I can only remember 1 gig, that was when I took my fuckin` girlfriend to the Crystal Palace bowl free concert. Dave Brock is THE man.

  • It's those free concerts we remember best! *giggles* I remember years ago sneaking past ticketers through some shrubs at a college campus in CA to see Jimmy Page perform in the Firm. Just as I was edging myself across the front wooden stage platform Jimmy Page comes out holding a violin bow and he sees me and holds up the bow in a salute and smiles and starts in with some e-bow trance music comparable to a Hawkwind trip out.

  • Just recieved my ticket to see Neil Young in Hammersmith in march. Got it from Viagogo, it`s the first I`ve used them. Ticket face price was £70, I paid £145. Have the days of free music for the common people gone or is it getting like football, where you have to be a fuckin` millionaire to buy a burger.

  • It's funny but not really that a decent arena seat ticket for a NIN concert in the states probably would have set me back $350 after the scalping if I'd gone there but I declined instead. Years back I found chance to hang out with Slash from Guns&Roses coz I knew what LA Mexican taco stand he frequented and it was more my pleasure buying him lunch than supporting his booze habit, ha, it's funny.

  • brvhrt: the first concert i seen was the black sword tour .it was totally mind expanding .ive never looked back since

  • hey billie stewert you out there=====hawkwind

  • i saw them at the kursaal in southend in about 75/76/ Great to be able to hear this again.

  • They do still tour. Saw 'em in Hitchin about 5 years (give or take a year or so) back. Having seen 'em at Buxton in '69 (give or take a year or so) I can report with confidence that either they've continued improving (unless I was less wrecked) ;-P

  • Lives of great men.Music that rules. I wish i had seen them at the Herzberg Concert in Germany.Brilliant!!!

  • Genesis forever, 600,000 people Circo Massimo Rome, Best band ever

  • Yeeeesss.... only, and I'm not sure how to break this to you gently fervibe, this isn't actually Genesis. Its Hawkwind, an excellent band in their own right. *And* they had a much cuter girl dancing for them than Genesis ever did. So there.

  • Ye gods, do these lads jam. I was dragged to see them at the 9:30 club in DC in the Fall of '89 (or was it '88?) on the Xenon Codex tour, having never listened to them before. Boy, am I glad I did. I was transfixed and have been ever since. Thanks Jim!

  • This is still the best band ever!! no other band comes close!! It's a pity their music is not that freely avaialble.

  • Field Marshal Slug ?????

  • buisness trip live wow

  • no its not its love in space buisness trip was 3 piece i see that tour in hastings love in space was the next year i think

  • Hawkwind are Simply the Best...a way of life...thanks for posting.

  • yep into then 15 years ago but still go back2 them

  • Fantastic! Glad to find ...

as someone said it seems a little fast but hey its live and looks like a great show

  • best band ever love the wind to death man :D

  • surely thats assault and battery, not warriors on the edge of time?

-07 tour swinging into town soon... will they ever stop touring?

  • I'm off to see Thunder Rider and the musicnauts of Space Ritual in Nov, then Captain Brock and his ship in Dec.

Hoooorahh!! How lucky am I !?!?

  • Good work space cadets !

Neither of those guys look like Captain Brock to me. Am I wrong ?

  • He's behind the keyboards off to the side of the stage. You can get a few glmpses of him on a couple of the other videos from this gig.

  • The video or concert is too dark which makes it hard to appreciate.

  • that's exactly how it was at the venue, people who were there had no problem appreciating it.

  • great show- but the last two times ive seen them they dont play it or any old stuff for that matter.

  • excellent sound - love these guys

  • hot peads

  • pot heads

  • the first the last the only space rock !

  • astounding sounds amazing music

  • GREAT STUFF!!

  • hwakwind rules the multiverse!

  • the original of studio version of this is one of the first songs i ever tripped to ('don't think i ever quite came down, really...)

  • i saw them do this at newcastle city hall

  • Boy do i know where you are coming from !!! These guys still rock!

  • Nah! didnt much like this line up, Ron tree is rather annoying

  • I saw them in New Haven CT on the same tour. Except I don't remember the skinny shirtless guitarist here and the singer had come out wrapped in plastic and wire. who is the guy doing the intro vocal there?

  • i got the original gatefold space ritual it opens up into a huge poster with trippy pics on...was great on mushies....ah to be young again id do it all over.they rock

  • Its actually 'Assault & Battery' first part then 'The Golden Void' in 2nd half..'Warrior on the Edge of Time' LP. Rock anthems of the highest most elite level 5 stars is not enough.

  • Actually, let's have it right.. it's: Standing At The Edge, then Assault & Battery (part1) and finally The Golden Void (part2) ;-)

  • What about the 'Space Ritual' then!!! Classic.

  • on the edge of time

  • The original Hawkwind, First 4 albums; 1970-Hawkwind; 1971-In Search of Space; 1972-Doremi Fasol Latido; 1974-Hall of the Mountain Grill; 1975-Warrior on the Edge of Time (Brock, Turner). You must have Warrior in your library with... Amon Duul II... and Nektar, Kraftwerk's Autobahn, Todd Rundgren's Utopia, and Yes-Relayer.

  • haha, yeah just happened to me... long time reading moorcock and just discovered this guys, i like 'em

  • Is that guy in the green light the Thunder Rider? I've only just discovered Hawkwind (after nearly fifteen years of reading Moorcock, no less) and so far I think they rock! :D

  • Nik Turner? Nah, in 94 it's probably Ron Tree... I think Davies left by then.

  • little too fast.. miss the ole' mellotron on this track

  • spin me back to the henge!

  • ah the memories Assault & Battery on the Human Anatomony! Only hawkwind
