One of the best albums ever. The title track and " the river under " are classics and it's good to know that it's new music cause you usually have to delve way back to find shit this good. Class band!!!!
This definitely IS great-sounding psychedelic/prog rock--I especially enjoy the phase-shifted electric guitar & mellotron! You guys have a new fan here. Long live Prog!
I really like the fact that there are bands playing progressive (meh this is psychedelic art rock) music still, but it isn't very ... unique or exciting. Great video nonetheless.
i recognize the old lord of the rings footage from my childhood. however there seems to be some extra footage. any idea where its from? plenty o roto scope there! great visuals!
great band, great song. You said "homemade" video, dude, you really got an hability on doing this, great visual style, the mixing dark age knights, pre-historic tribes and war machines... great result.
congratulations. (the guys from astra should consider inviting you to plan some more videos, "Ouroboros" would be a great one)
the fact that they put rotoscope footage of the movie Wizards (one of my favorite movies ever) along with this amazing track is fucking great. I'll definitely obtain a copy of this album
@Shellewell I appreciate the amazing musicianship of DT though I don't salivate for their genre and sound...too much tecnique and very little soul for me.
I love the band formed by Mike Portnoy called TRANSATLANTIC instead,they are wonderful.
And I bet Mike think the same as he had enough of DT and left the band.
I love also the last cd from Jordan Rudess but it's a record of cover of masterpieces from ELP-Genesis-King Crimson etc......
@gixmar well i was just pointing out that there are american bands playing "real" music. transatlantic are awesome but just prefer theater. The music in dream theater wasn't the issue with mike leaving though, it was more the feeling within the band itself and so on, really he wanted a hiatus, he effectively was DT, the biggest presence within the band writing most of the stuff
@gixmar mmmm... i think i have all theaters albums and they are a huge part of my life and that i have therefore seen pretty much every interview with all the members about it. theres no suggestion anywhere that the musical direction had anything to do with it
this video is a little Masterpiece and amazing Music by a Great Band- Thank you

@Huroniso
That's cause it's all taken from different Ralph Bakshi and he made Wizards. I believe I saw some cuts from that movie in the video.

@Shellewell mmmm...I think Mike want to play also different music.
I noticed him was very happy and moved when DT played the tribute To Pink Floyd's DSOTM and when he play with Transatlantic.
