Great videos! Best I've seen so far. I think I may have to get into shotgun reloading? How much does a machine like this cost? How much would a new guy expect to pay initially for everything to get started? Is reloading shotgun ammo cheaper and more cost effective than reloading handgun ammo? Thanks. I subbed.
These were two very informative videos. I load with a Mec 600 Jr and was looking at the progressive loaders so this is exactly what I needed to see. It was very clear with excellant operating instruction by example. You comments were to the point and covered everything one should know to operate the 9000. Thanks
@knsmaximo I too have a 600 jr, the two stage crimp station is supposed to me better. What does yours do that you dont care for? I have had nothing but good things with mine. I shoot about a case a week so I am upgrading to a 650 progressive because my friend rebuilds MEC reloaders. I can get one for 130 dollars and a trade
It comes out of the 2nd stage in bad quality. If i dont roll crimp the shotshell will be too thick on the top to fit the barrel chamber. I saw one guy had the 2nd stage a metallic punch and it had indeed better results.
Now i own a 9000G and its huge diffirence in the quality. The 600 im using it only for 3" 1/2 hulls only.
Though i had to remove the 6th stage from the 9000G because in europe we work a bit diffirent in that part!
Thank you very much for your two videos. They are concise to te point and show that you know what you are talking about. As a presonal advise would recommend you to place the camera on a tripodwhile operating the machine and on your hand when you want to point out a relevant step. You can also ask for a friend o hold the camera.
You're very welcome. I appreciate your comment and advice. With a shortage of reloading tutorials and an increase in shooters who reload, I create my videos to help aid and educate beginners and to try to simplify and break-down the somewhat complex steps to a MEC 9000G progressive reloader. Please feel free to leave any suggestions for future videos.
No, I have never had any double loads or anything similar. The 9000G a very reliable loader and that keeps errors to a very minimum, especially when loading mass quantities of shells. Any experienced reloader can load on this loader without any problem.
Any questions? Leave them as a comment to the video or a comment to my profile and I will return them as soon as possible.
Another great video and follow up to the first video. Thanks again!

Does it matter what type of powder or primer you use?

@jake66000
Yes, some powders are very fast-burning and others are slower-burning. I suggest using Red Dot or something similar.
