But there are so many people out there (amateurs etc) that can play these drums as good than Dave or even have such an amazing voice like Tom. Metallica is simply more diverse. They don't care for such discussions anyway as they are good friend. I often wish i did care as less...

Metallica writes and composes better songs; they can do more with fewer notes, less sound, etc. Their good stuff sounded heavy as hell, not because the singer was screaming or the guitarist playing really fast, but because they knew restraint and wrote good music. In terms of creative skill, Metallica blows Slayer out of the water.
