Yes, I am tired of $1000+ macs, but what pystar is doing is ILLEGAL. apple clearly states that running OSX on any non-apple authorized computer violates their agreement .
@jamie9230 they MUST state on the cover of the software, that it is to be installed only on apple computers... not written inside the box in a booklet under the EULA.. kind of too late to return it once its opened and you see your not allowed to use on a regular PC.. they don't take back opened software. Why wont they just simply put it on the outside of the box? (they still haven't even with snow leopard)
1GB of RAM, 250GB, That stupid mouse with a pimple, keyboard, DVD burner, 20" display, HD2400 XT 128MB, some other crap like blue tooth, OSX, and a T7700 which isn't even an upgradable option.
That is not a good system. A neither is paying another $300 just to get some decent RAM.
Ya its a horrible system if you run Vista on it. Im running OS X Leopard on a 1.3Ghz G4 Laptop with 768MB of ram and I have more capable more stable system then my desktop which I use for gaming which in every respect is twice this laptop in stats yet pathetic cuz of Windows limitations. And why dont you compare Apples with Apples, compare the price of the imac to a all in one retail PC. not a custom built whitebox PC. I can build a custom one for as low as 250 bucks. Dont mean much though.
If I can build something better for the same price, then it's horrible period. Who cares what it's running? Better hardware is better. Don't use that lame crutch because it doesn't work anymore. PowerPC days are gone.
you are comparing custom built to retail, that is never a fair comparison. No design/research cost, no marketing cost, no support cost, and your custom built cost includes no software either. Again your full of shit. All in one PCs from HP cost as much or more then the iMac. Similar spec laptops that are also the same size cost as much or more as the Apple laptops.
Your $1200 Mac doesn't include "software" either. At any rate, keep dreaming about how great Macs are. I'll sit here an enjoy pondering whether I want a 4850 or 4870.
Why? Maybe some competition will make Apple lower their ridiculous prices (not that i'd ever buy one in the first place). But these Psystars, now they look interesting. I wouldn't get them with Apple OS though

I'm tired of hearing the noise of the mac pro fans every fucking time you drag a video file around in final cut...
Depending on how you build your machine, they can be much quieter than the average apple machine.

Nothing is ridiculous about Apples prices, stop living in the 90's when that was valid.

Because $1200 is perfectly reasonable for a computer barely adequate as an office PC.
And $100/GB is a great price for DDR2 800. Sign me up.

"barely adequate as an office PC" Your on crack or your a freaking moron. Get educated dumb ass.

Ok, that's a horrible system. For $1200 I can build E8500, P35, 4GB, 3750 512MB, Lian Li case, etc. Wow.
