  • why do i watch this stuff? O_o

  • That cucumber has some serious diarrhea.

  • he came

  • How would you feel if a sea cucumber poked YOU with a stick?

  • @Airforceproud95 well first i would be amazed that it could grab a stick, secondly i would walk away as sea cucumbers arent known to be fast

  • well duh we all know if u play with it enough white stuff will come out

  • To all the bleeding-heart sea cucumber sympathizers out there: this is a defense mechanism---its not actually expelling its intestines (though some species do) these are just sticky tendrils used to ensnare small predators to try killing what kills it. However some species do push out some of their internal organs to distract predators with a small meal---which the cucumber quickly regenerates back to normal.

    .

There was no damage done in this video---just a demonstration. Cool your tits.

  • @Jex134 How quickly can it regenerate it's organs again?

  • @LadyLatias Not sure about how fast, but fast enough to resume normal function before the organism perishes. Regeneration / degeneration of internal organs is actually fairly common in simple organisms, like insects and fish. Some use it as a defense mechanism, like the sea cucumber, to distract predators---others use it at the end of their lifecycle during breeding to offer more nutrients for the reproduction process.

  • it looks so fluffy and huggable :D

  • Cant they sting you?

  • @andrewCNC905 Nope.

  • @andrewCNC905 their natraul defence is puking on people.

  • Jizz

  • What's it doing at the start of the video? It seems to be extending the tubules a bit and then sucking them back in, like a tongue or something. I thought this ejection thing was one-way.

  • Fun Fact: those organs are coated with a paralytic toxin.

  • is it true they are endangered?

  • @llamingo nope!

  • @bilgebagger did u know that a sea cucumber made an appearance on jackass?

  • @bilgebagger

    Chuck Testa!

  • @llamingo ppeople eat em accually. in japan its a main corse dish

  • Cracked brought me here...

  • 0:10 pokey pokey pokey pokey pokey :D

  • The sea cucumber is expelling its Cuvier organs, actually, as a self-defence mechanism.Evisceration (getting rid of some internal organs) is a different process.

  • According to Jackass it is cum =O

  • lol when my sis saw this she shouted "OH MI GAWD ITS HAVIN' BABIES!!!"

  • poor cucumber.....

  • ewww it jizzed

  • "not harmful to the sea cucumber" for some reason I find this phrase hilarious. :/

  • Well, that's another way to "loose your lunch."

  • По голове себе постучи!

  • Epic....But weird

  • its having a party!~ toot toot!

  • what if you cut it?

  • Those are called the Tubules of Cuvier. It does not hurt him to shoot those out... that's exactly what they are for; a defense system. They can immoblize predators so that the sea cucumber can get away and then it regenerates more Tubules.

  • Is everybody too dumb to read the description? This guy was filming it, he didn't poke it. It's not like it'll die anyway -.-

  • No, it doesnt die, it actually grows all of its internal organs back. Creepy and gross, but FASCINATING

  • That's disgusting.

  • Will it die if it lets too much out

  • lol aren't you mr annoying.. could you imagine chilling in your porch and some little brat comes and pokes you with a stick... I wouldn't shit my intestines but i'd fucking run after that little brat and beat the shit outta him.... drag that kid back to his mother and tell her she did a shit job raising him...

  • @MaxC17 Sigh - let me reiterate YET AGAIN: As it says in the caption, I did not do this to the sea cucumber. our dive guide chose to do this without asking us. i just filmed the event

  • @bilgebagger You should get a new guide.

  • @MegaroGoji I only dove there once and thus only had that particular guide that one day (in 2007). Obviously we have different guides where ever we go in the world. I should say that the Japanese in particular have little respect for ocean life compared to most other places. This is inherent in their culture (fishing tuna to the brink of extinction and fighting desperately to keep slaughtering whales and dolphins.

  • @bilgebagger It's not inherent in their culture. It's just a phase in their development of environmental awareness. PLUS Europeans used to kill bears and slaughter whales too. The same can be said for everyone. Even now most Western countries overfish most oceans.

  • @MaxC17 if you did that I'd jizz on you

  • @MaxC17 someone needs their diaper changed

  • @MaxC17 Some little brat poking a brainless (literally) creature... I'm sure he's going to come chasing after him and spew more of his gonads and intestines over him.

And yeah his mother taught him not to poke sea cucumbers... sure.

  • @kazzick123 thanks for making me laugh while studying for bio112

  • it cumed because it was looking at playboy

  • As my science teacher told me, When a sea cucumber "pukes out" its intestines, it regrows new intestines.

  • @Juanelo4u - As it says in the caption, I did not do this to the sea cucumber. our dive guide chose to do this without asking us. i just filmed the event - which was interesting to witness and probably did not kill the sea cucumber.

  • @Juanelo4u dude they don't die they spill their intestines then they regrowth...

  • @Juanelo4u Im gonna stick you in the face for not understanding he didn't do it -__-

  • @Juanelo4u i would squirt my jizz at you

  • Sea cucumbers have been known to ejaculate its the sea cucumber's way of defending itself "c'mon keep agitating me next thing u k now i'll just jizz all over ur face" says the sea cucumber

  • does it eventually run out of shit to throw out?

  • why does it do that???

  • *insert sexually charged joke here*

  • POKE IT POKE POKE IT AND IT JIZZ IN THE PANTS

  • It looks like it puked its intestines and swallowed it back. Again and again

  • Is it poisonous?

  • @bilgebagger Thanks I was just curious about it. :]

  • it wont die but why set it back a couple of weeks on its regeneration stages its very stressfull

  • @riderinblack57 Totally agree with you.

  • Did it Died?

  • sure, it's expelling it's intestines, LETS POKE IT WITH A STICK!!!!!!!

  • respiratory system? do you mean digestive system? you use respiratory system to breathe. digestive system is used to digest food.

  • Man, I gotta learn to do that.

  • i can hear you breathing

  • @rpblcan I find your lack of capitals and full stops disturbing... kcccchhh.. krrccccchhhh...

  • soo cool!!

  • watch?v=1zq5_GI1Osc&feature=related

f++k! and i was concerned about the poking:):)also ..people actually eat that?

  • ok... ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

  • yank that shit out of him

  • I hear that the stuff coming out of the sea cucumber is good for recovering wounds when you smear it over the wound. Is that true?

  • ohmigod ohmigod IT'S HAPPENING!! *BLAAARGH!!!!

  • wtf.....why must the world have such wierd creatues......we have only found 1/10 sea creatures in the world, just think of what other fucked up things are down thier, im not saying this thing is gay or nothing, i like its glowing.....mouth things?

  • @RetardedxVideo those glowing mouth things were its intestines coming out of its ass. just clearing that up for ya XD

  • "poke" always had positive mean....

so, if u wanna ur friend do this, poke him when he drunk~

  • That's not cool dude, don't make the sea cucumber evicerate it has to grow all that back and it definatly isn't a good thing to POKE it.

  • *poke* *poke* *poke* *poke* BLAAAAARRRRRGHHGHGHGHGGHGH

  • Dont POKE IT.

  • lol thats how it masturbates lol jk

  • its not animal cruelty... youre scaring it. thats the same as me jumping round a corner to make someone scream, just so i can hear them scream. same deal with the puffer fish too. and i can understand why she did it. the experience of seeing that in real life would be better than watching it on a screen... or at least it would for those who have a true passion for sea life.

  • i wish i could do that

  • oh no its got long hair

  • thats so kool

  • thats just mean, poking the poor thing so we can see him expel his organs, nice, really nice :(

  • @snicky1983 it's not bad or anything it's how it defends it self

  • wow they look pretty

  • LMAO! thats weird. idk why but i find this sea cucumber very cute :,) its very squishy and fuzzy looking.

  • awesome

  • I find it interesting how many people are disturbed by the poking :P.

    Probably an American thing? :\

  • Fuck you guys! Do you have any idea how much energy it takes that little guy to regenerate its visceral organs? : )

  • smd

  • YA LETS JUST GO AROUND THE FUCKING UNDERWATER NEIGHBORHOOD AND POKE THE FUCK OUT OF LIVING THINGS THAT SHOULD HELP HMM MAYBE IN THE BUTT HOLE.......stupid chinease

  • @ronox2 a pot calling a kettle black. Can't even spell "Chinese" and called them stupid. Anyway, what makes you think they're Chinese? They're Japanese. Either way the average chinese/ japanese should be more intelligent than you.

  • @JoGenJG ya your the one to go around look at cooments and comment on that comment cause your a fat ass sitting in a chair about to break and make comments on other comments you fucking low life fat ass.

  • @ronox2 fat ass? I bet my bmi is lower than yours. anyway i'm too superior to continue arguing with you. So have fun being a bitch

  • @ronox2 dont feeed da troll

  • @ronox2 How do you know they're Chinese?

  • Intestines aren't part of the respiratory system.

  • The cucumber looks sturdy enough for such poking. :-/

  • ye the process is called evisceration and many of the animals in it class do this both to catch food and to scare away predators

  • thats pretty gross, but you are tormenting the poor creature and i find that a little disturbing :/

  • cool and um... people eat these things? oh yeah what i wanted to know was can this cucumber be harmful to anything that touches it?

  • It looks so fuzzy

  • HA HA

  • u hert the pore sea cucumber y! )=

  • man that would probably hurt shitting out your intestines if that doesnt cause pain i dont kno what the fuk does

  • does that thing have a brain or what its so fukkin wierd

  • lolol,i giggled when i saw the softnes sof the sea cucumber being poked.kinda wierd but cute. :D

  • I didn't know sea cucumbers were that big!

  • Mmmm... well there goes my idea of noodles for a snack

  • It's okay to poke animals with sticks as long as it's for science.

  • LMFAO beating it with a stick! xD

  • visforfreedom is right, i am also researching sea cucumbers, and he just type my conclosion(lol, jk about the conclosion stuff)

  • umm actually no, this DOES NOT OFTEN KILL the sea cucumber, out of all the Echinodermata classes, the cucumber has a far great regeneration process than the others, and can survive quite easily after doing this strange defense system....so just thought id clear that up for you.

  • Thank you for this clarification! I did think it would be weird for a dive guide to do this if it was generally lethal to the animal.

  • @bilgebagger no prob, as we speak im writing about sea cucumbers. lol. just thought id get some entertainment out of these little bastards.

  • @VisForFreedom not often but sometimes....so still i ll disagree/plus..the process of regenerating you mention is still a process of healing/so did they hurt it?yes!/anyway i was wondering if they clean the sea so well maybe they clean poluted waters..to some extend..?

  • That is amazing.

  • That's a pretty shafted defense mechanism, by the way.

"Oh no, don't eat me! Eat my organs instead."

    Nice.

  • The dive guide was a woman not a man. I don't know why she decided to do this for us, but i have noticed that japanese dive guides (perhaps because their culture is so centered on seafood, i don't know?) handle the animals far more than western dive guides. Another Japanese dive guide caught a pufferfish and scared it into puffing up. Why scare it just so we can see something we already know will happen? We would never do this to a sea cucumber, but since it was happening, we did film it.

  • @LPGOP

Get over it, it's a sea cucumber, not a person. As a sea cucumber, it has no idea that you're "treating it cruelly". As such, it's probably not cruel then, now is it? So please, spare us.

  • Comment removed

  • @HeadoftheHydra

Perhaps you kick DOGS and the mentally disabled, too. According to you, if one has no "idea" of the concept of cruelty - its not cruel.

    Shame on you.

  • @LPGOP

No, genius. It's not about it simply "not having the idea of cruelty", it's about it literally being unable to give a shit. It's a sea cucumber. They have no thoughts. No emotions. Very little physical sensations. They work entirely off of instinct, not thought-process. They're lower life-forms. It'd be like you crying for all the bacteria when you wash your hands because they died. Or crying about the salad you ate because the lettuce isn't alive anymore. It's JUST AS STUPID.

  • @HeadoftheHydra

I don't understand INTENTIONAL cruelty to any animal without any purpose. No matter what the animal. I mean, it takes a small mind to consider that kind of "entertainment" defendable.

  • God are you retarded?

They have very little sense organs.

They are nothing like dogs, lord HeadoftheHydra is right you probably do cry everytime you wash your hands.

Lord some people just need to learn more about this kind of stuff before they say anything and act like they know what their talking about.

  • Dude

Its a freaking sea vegetable. lol This is a defense mechanism, they do this pretty much all the time, they regenerate their organs in a matter of weeks, this is cruel, its a great learning experience and an awesome thing to witness,

    so lighten up

  • @LPGOP

i stabbed 1 to death in the seychelles and used it for fishing coz im hardcore

  • Let me ask you this.....if this defense mechanism kills the cucumber, then how is it an effective defense mechananism? Exactly. Cucumbers wouldn't do this if it killed them, the parts of the stomach and intestines that are ejected are simply non-essential organs, that are quickly regenerated. In fact, in some species, the sea cucumber even discharges the intestines naturally twice a season, without being threatened. I suggest you do some research before posting next time.

  • @LPGOP are you retarded? go take oceanography class, this DOES NOT KILL THEM, THEY NEVER DIE FROM DOING THIS

    stupid fuck

  • they're actually cuverian tubules, further outpocketings of the rectum. they are being expelled through the anus, the goal is to entangle harassers

  • i think that i have seen this in the bath before. i seem to recall theyre called bathnoodles or (bathilius noodilius) ;)

  • wait reproductiev system? u MEAN CUM?!

  • They said respiratory like breathing/lungs. Not reproductive.

  • oh k thanks

  • I thought it was just a protein.

  • nature is so raw

  • Poking is an accepted scientific study tool.

  • indeed it is. :D

  • @ProfeTa6 Are you insane?! Frink, put down that science pole!!

  • looks a muppet with a squid exploding out of it.

  • This is the equivalent of shitting out your kidneys

  • Looks like the turd of Cthulhu

  • Wow, evolution blew my mind again.

I am entranced and somewhat disgusted by this video

  • Wow, incredible!

  • constant poke FTW

  • You wanna know what's REALLY disgusting about this? That isn't its mouth. That's its ass.

  • aww poor bear-pig-hamster-onion-fish thing ;_;

  • 0:32 is the coolest! hehe

  • IMA FIREIN MAH INSTETINES!

  • @gr8xman BLARG!

  • 0:20 *poke poke* BLARGH.

  • NOOO! its coming for us!!! *death gurgle*

  • It looks really weird. But it actually looks kind of cool!

  • a sea cucumber? haha

  • i know, right?

  • Looks like a paraplegic bear with insides made from silly string.

  • well put

  • ur mean.

  • it's the lazy fat guy of the sea

  • its like a fur ball lol

  • This shows how much of a nerd I am, but it's actually expelling its gastrointestinal tract, not its respiratory system. It has no respiratory system because it lives in water.

  • Yeah, it's nothing to be ashamed of. I knew it wasn't doing that either but I was too lazy to look it up.

  • Yes they do have a respiratory system. They suck in water through the anus into their internal respiratory tree which extracts oxygen from water. Just because creatures live in water doesn't mean they don't have respiratory systems, they just "breath" in water and extract the oxygen gas from the liquid water rather than from the gaseous air that other land animals do.

  • lol that was kinda gross but kewl

  • im getting my freak on to this shit. <3

  • !WTF!!!???

  • The stuff that comes out it is disgustingly beautiful.

  • I was told in my Biology book that the Sea Cucumber jettisons it's inside, their was nothing about tubules...Gah! Our books are fairly new too.

  • Wel, they are internal organs, but this one is not ejecting all of its internal organs like some some species can.

  • Though some sea cucumbers can eject their internal organs, this one is not. It is ejecting sticky string-like structures called Cuverian tubules. The tubules are later regenerated by the seastar. The Cuverian tubules expand greatly after they are released, are extremely sticky, and are toxic if eaten. Take THAT would-be sea cucumber predators!

  • SPERM!i think the sea cucumber is horny
