  • I don't mean to be vulgar but this music is fuckin cool and I love it

  • im his great neice :) <3

  • @pixelchick77 Hi, I'm writing a book set in the 30s and 40s. If you are the great Al Bowlly's great niece would you be willing to talk to me about him?

  • @Prospero4960 Just to be clear, I'm Lew Stone's great neice, and my dad is Joyce Stone's nephew. Shes still going strong and will be 100 this year! She just helped Tony Staveacre write a book called 'A Modest Maestro - The Lew Stone Story' which came out last year. Inbox me if you would like to talk further.

  • This is such a quintessential Bowlly/ Stone sound from the Monseigneur era- A gorgeous opening from Alfie Noakes on trumpet, Joe Crossman with his subtone clarinet solo, and Al backed, as he so often was in a beautifully unerstated way with celeste (I think Lew Stone himself played celeste on recordings) Delicious!

  • Thanks for uploading this delightful number - a lesser known title from the King of Croon. As always, Al Bowlly's timing, pitch and delivery is immaculate - a rare attribute.

  • OH!!! THIS IS FANTASTIC!!!!!! I Love this! I Would give 10 Stars if I could!

  • Marvellous - Al Bowlly was truly the greatest of them all.

  • Al at his best - perhaps only Russ Columbo, despite his brief singing career, can be bracketed with him.

  • Very romantic and good to dance to with the one you love....Thanks for the post most enjoyable. 5*****

  • Nice sound on this recording - Great vocal by Al.

  • Heavenly!

  • Wonderful Terence. He was such a charismatic fellow with a heavenly voice. Thank you.
