At RINI, I totally agree. Nothing like growing up in the 80's. I came home today after pulling wisdom teeth all day, and was particularly nostalgic of my childhood. What a great decade.
By the way was our childhood in the 80's as awesome as I remember it or is it just my imagination? The shows, cartoons, movies, music, toys, candy, cereal, happy meal toys, etc...were the freaking best! I feel bad for kids now a days. They will never know the awesomeness of practicing the Crane Kick or what the world was like when your only communication was a landline and letters. Giant sigh for simpler times and Nintendo/Sega Genesis games...
@MasterNinja1990 I'm assuming you weren't born until 1990 by your sn. Seeing how it came out in the late 80's it is indeed a gaming system from the 80's. If it was from the 90's it would have had to come out from 1990-1999. Many people still had and played with the Genesis well into the 90's. Since I come from a different decade than you I think it's safe to say I didn't watch the Power Rangers, but rest assured my superheros (He-Man, GI Joe) could kick their asses. P.S. Most of the 90's sucked.
wow your 80´s mentality stinks. I was only joking around man. And the Mega Drive came in the late 80 but didnt really start kicking before the 90´s. just so you know. they even market it as "the video game system for the 90tis" hehe lol but take it easy man =)
@MasterNinja1990 I got the joke. I'm just stating a few facts. Besides that it wasn't called the Mega Drive over here. Maybe it picked up steam in Europe more in the early to mid 90's-I wouldn't know. Just saying here it came out in the 80's. The promos depicting the system as the game system of the 90's was pushed to make it look like the game of the future...not the NES graphics everyone was used to. Hence, "the video game system for the 90's". Sorry, defensive of my peeps from the 80's.Truce?
ya why not. I love the 80tis. The 80tis and the 90tis have the best music, video games and movies. (and toys also). No shity MMA or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, it was all about Karate!
@maxheadroom1986 Yes, there was a Johnny action figure. I don't remember a Kreese figure though I may be wrong. If they had Sato they must have had Kreese. I remember my cousin (who had all of the Masters of the Universe figures with Castle Greyskull and all of the Justice League with the Hall of Justice) had the Daniel and Miyagi figures. God, I was so jealous of my cousin's collection. I think his mother sold them all in a garage sale years ago. Bummer.
I remember this, talk about pure 80`s cheese. I wonder if the kids in this commercial look back embarrassed, I`ll bet they don`t go around tellin` anybody lol.
Pat Morita actually called me at home and asked me to send him an extra Miyagi action figure! He was an old friend, RIP! I had two extra ones carded that he autographed for me!
For those who're wondering, the "competition center" consists of the referee figure, and 2 pieces or cardboard (crowd and ring). I use the ring as a tray for my tv dinners.
I like the nerds pat morita impression. Dead on
