  • i dont know if its just me but he looks kinda lame in one of his hind legs. I also think that pony is a bit big and hard for u to control.

  • and wouldnt u ride better on a smaller horse, wen you ride on a horse the wrong size u get bad habits, ive been through it, my pony i used to have on loan was much to small for me but i loved him 2 much, i got off him before 2 many bad habits wer created & now ride better than ever, im 5ft 8 the pony was 14hh and my new horse is 16.1hh

  • why r u riding english in a western bridle? i ride my horse with fairly long reins but his heads stil usually up to the bit and my fingers only hve 2 move to turn or stop him, he has a really sensitive mouth, i dont think the western bridles helping much,

  • Okay, you look REALLY good, there's just one thing. It looks like you don't have all that much control over him. Maybe it's just because of the long reins or something. I don't know. It just seems like he is trotting really fast, then really slow, then really fast, etc. Just try to keep a little more control on him. Other then that you look good!

  • thanks Dee!

Ya we were doing Extended trots and stuff so thats why we are going slow then fast

  • I would try to put your shoulders back a little more, and put your heels down. Otherwise, you were pretty good!!! And I would also try to look up. How old are you?

I think that horse has some kind of problem. He moves a little funny, almost like he's limping???

I would have a vet look at it.

Maybe try some acupuncture or chiropractic stuff. It worked with my horse

  • sit up a little more and move your hands off his neck a little and back towards you .

  • hmm your leaning forward.

your feet are flopping around. haha i was the complete oppisite! My feet and heels were always good but my upper lrg was always bad! good job! i love crititquing people when i can!

  • with you leaning forward it might be just nerves or maybe coz you were excited about moving to a new stable..

Lookin good tho! Keep going :)

  • Ya Im used to a pony with a small naeck, his necks long so is his stire

    buts thanks

  • Thats you?

  • Yes

  • Is he okay to ride? He look really off in the Left hind. Maybe this is why your not getting a very nice /long canter. If he has hip problem is he on MSM or a Joint supplement? you don't Jump him do you?

  • No his Left hip is all weird

    Its fine tho

It pops out sometomes buts its perfect to ride

  • im pretty sure he's gaited or something like tht but he does have like a hock problem, but tht only stops him from jumping he's an amazing flat horse but no he's not off he's fine

  • Diane said he jumps

  • oh than maye he got better! yay! when I was there he couldn't jump but maybe Ember got him fit enough to jump thts great to hear! :]

  • Haha prob

Im just nervous to jump him because

like if hes hips bad he might take a huge leap or bunny hop it and ill FALL

    ahaaaa

  • haha i doubt he'll take a huge leap and if u fell he's going to than just hold him off the jump so he'll just add in a stride so he can't :]

  • okay thanjks :[

  • he seems good and your riding is also but is it just me or is he looking stiff in his left hind leg? at the trot he seems to be favoring it just a little, and on your first canter clip he seemed off too. arthritis? (sp? can't spell that)

but good job :D glad you met him!

  • i'm pretty sure he's gaited or something like tht but he does have some problem in his leg somewhere tht stops him from jumping, but he's 100% fine on the flat just looks a little different than a regular horses' canter & trot, but he's not off in any way

  • Okay

    so he cant jump

  • reins are a little long but yeah it's great!

  • watch you reins arnt too long :D but apart from tht ur really good :D

  • You're leaning forward a lot, and your transitions are a bit off. And I how it's kind of hard, but your heels could be down a bit more. Don't worry, I have a hard time with that xD

And when I ask for the canter, I always start at a walk. Then I squeeze with my inside leg forward and my outside leg back, and then I support more with my inside hand than my outside. Hope I helped :)

  • well...

1: get your horse to canter more than just a couple strides.

2: try to keep your feet Still!

3: try posting HIGHER. it will help.

I didnt meen to sound mean.

  • You're reins look long... But other then that, goooood job ! I hope you do good there & there's no drama(:

  • When you are going from a tot to a canter if you want a smooth relaxed one make sure that first you start with a fast walk around a few times and then go into your trot make sure it is a good trot and then ask for a canter if the trot is to bumpy start over again because it wont be a good canterr Haha just saying even though thats not in the video but your eq is good
