If you think assimilation will happen overnight, then you are wrong. But it will happen. The only sad part is that as a consequence, the beautiful elements of culture that come with different backgrounds will be sacrificed.

It wasnt me who did that to aboriginals. Absorb or integrate and use for one's own benefit=assimilation. From what i see the lebs just dont want to integrate but own and be the majority of the land. This is where the problem lies, Australians are for refugees, for people to come and better their lives from what they had. But when the minority think they own/take over this land it becomes an issue, because they dont and they decimate our flag, our society, our ideology and our community over it!

I used to get called "WOG" (in a derogatory way) from when i was a little 5 year old till about when i was 16. Thats when i stopped taking shit from people and started fending for myself and fighting back.
I'll never forget about 15 years ago in Shelly Beach (Part of Cronulla) during Australia Day, about six drunk guys started swearing and yelling at all the "LEBS" to "GO BACK TO YOUR OWN COUNTRY" and "FUCK YOU THIS IS AUSTRALIA MATE"!

I was about 16 years old, so were two of my cousins. My uncle was in his early thirties. My dad was saying "just ignore them".
Did you think we were going to just let them put us on show? It was on mate. We had a blue and that was that. But all for what? This shit has been happening for ages. Way before Cronulla.
We need to step up and make a difference.
