  • It's 6mph over the lift span and no more than 300 amps of power while the engine goes over the lift span.

Been over it quite a few times.

  • There's a walkway on the side but its rusted, scary!

  • Thanks for posting this. Most folks in town probably don't even know that this bridge is used several times a week. You can access this point at 16th and Northwestern Pkwy. It's actually a broad alleyway that's part cobblestone. There is parking on the other side of the flood wall. From there, you can get to where stanh4464 was, or go further on the Riverwalk. The Riverwalk itself was a lengthy transfer track that went underneath the PRR Clagg Tower until it was taken out decades ago.

  • wat sub is it the toldeo it came here too i get the toldeo sub also

  • o i know where that is!!! right across the interstate from the yard i see it all the time when i pass thru louisville!!

  • awesome drawbridge!!!! where is this at?

  • Looks like there building a new bridge and is that a speed restriction over the bridge?

  • Haven't heard of any news about a new bridge.this bridge is used by Louisville & Indiana RR and CSX. this is the normal speed I've seen.

  • ya up here by Cincinnati they go that slow: L&N line

  • @sephdark471 No the round metal objects in the river are called "dolphins" they protect the bridge piers from being hit by a barge. The lift span crosses the Portland Canal on the Ohio River. The McAlpine lock is just downstream from the bridge. The entire bridge complex is over 1 mile in length
