@cindle1 I check the anal glands every time I bath but if they don't feel full I don't do them. You can cause problems by attempting when they don't need to be done. ;)
Thanks! He has been done and through obedience school since he was young so he is used to it all. My other Cocker is kinda cranky though and he has been done and trained the same. I think some Cockers have more attitude then others. Only thing I can tell you is to start slow and try to make it fun by using treats. Thanks again for the nice compliment. :)

Ik heb zelf 2 cockers ,mannetje en een vrouwtje, de vrouwtje is de alpha hond zij is daas maar ook zij beet mij & grommen dus ze snel afgeleerd , beet in haar oor en nu doet ze niet meer. doe een muilje om als je borstel. hoe vaker je doe de beste het is en laat zien jij ben de baas de hond is het niet. en beloon alleen op goed gedrag.

@shell12345678 I just use a comb that has the two different lengthed combs, you can get them anywhere that sells grooming products.

i've got a cocker spaniel too,
i wish she was that calm. :p
she barks, ALOT! and i can't learn her to stop that,
and she growls, when she doesn't like something,
like when i brush her. sometimes she even bites :|
