In the 50s Sheree, Kim Novak, Angie Dickenson, et al were molded into bland, generic look-alikes as if they were Barbie dolls. I prefer the late 60s-early 70s when they had more personality and were 10 times sexier as a result. Sheree is hot stuff in The Gypsy Moths (1969) and Lawman (1970).

It's a shame 20th used her to keep MM on her toes and then lost interest when Mansfield came along. They even had her wear Marilyn's recycled and altered "pirate "costume from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1:19 and 1:28 )

Very Sinatra... he took this normally driven uptempo song and made it soft. Sometimes he would do the reverse. It's great.

I looked up Sheree on nndb and it said she died of "complications of surgery." Does anyone have any more info?

WHATS so Great about Sheree North and A star with her talent is...TO some people she was a sexy bombshell to some as she got older Kramer;s mother on Seinfeld..I remember her as LOU GRANTS Girlfriend on The Mary Tyler Moore show in the 70's..ALL of her show roles in Movies and various TV shows..ALWAYS made an impact and you remember her..LIKE Blanches dying sister on an episode of GOLDEN GIRLS....anything she did PEOPLE remembered her...now thats talent.....I miss that.....

Sheree North had the goods around: great looks, photogenic, and a wonderful dancer. She had a really nice butt and legs too! I posted an earlier comment indicating that I met her in 1990, and hoped she was doing well. Afterwards, I looked up at the info box, and noticed that she passed in 2005. 'Sorry to hear this.

Hard to believe the studios would choose Jayne Mansfield over Sheree North to promote as a sex symbol.

Besides her two prominent assets, Mansfield was a smallish talent while Sheree North could dance like nobody's business and had a winning personality.

I'll bet she was very hurt and disappointed.

Yes indeed. I saw Sheree North in a Jerry Lewis movie, cutting a rug. She was a wild thing. I met her when I worked in a bank in Santa Monica, CA in 1990, and surprised her of with knowledge of her as a dancer, since I was so very young. Her head seemed to shake slightly beyond her control. I hope that all is well with her. I haven't seen her since she was on Seinfeld.

I remember Sheree in some 70's films. I think she was in some movie back then about some sniper stalking people he thinks contributed to his beloved's death . Anybody know the name of that one?.

Later on in life she developed an illness that caused her to constantly shake, no

Director Don Siegel had Sheree in several of his '70s films when she was in her forties and still a very voluptuous and a talented actress.RIP Sheree.

She was also in an episode of 1970s "Family" with Kristy McNichol and Sada Thompson. A Christmas episode in which she becomes involved with the character "Doug's" father. She sang in this as well. What a great actress!

The great Sheree North--what a cool lady and excellent actress. She only improved as she got older, and I loved watching her as Blanche's sister Virginia on The Golden Girls. Thanks for this terrific tribute to a terrific (but underappreciated) star!
